Select any community topic space portlet or developerWorks custom feed you are interested in and instantly create a Google Gadget, Netvibes module or MyYahoo Widget. Now available on iGoogle, Netvibes and MyYahoo , and coming soon to your favorite syndication mashup including Facebook, My Space, your personal blogging engine(s), Second Life, mobile devices and more… We intend on making gizmos pervasive across our site , so that more more & more content can be earmarked by the user for further syndication. - 10. developer gizmos from IBM: Introducing a simple syndication model Concept: Simplify syndication and re-syndication of your website content. Step 1: User exports developerWorks content using a developer gizmo from IBM. developerWorks content now resides on the users’ syndicated mashup home page of choice. (MySpace, My Yahoo, Netvibes, iGoogle, Facebook, etc) Step 2: Visitor comes to user’s mashup home page and sees developerWorks gizmo content. Through this model, visitor is able to export this content to their syndicated mashup site of choice. And so on… Today, the dW custom feeds application makes this possible. A user can place the custom html feeds on their personal site and these feeds can be exported as Google gadgets to any visitor’s iGoogle mashup home page. Our plan is to extend this model outward in the near future.
- 11. Exporting developerWorks spaces content With a single click export any developerWorks spaces portlet as a Google Gadget, Netvibes Module or Yahoo Widget. By leveraging Ajax, these gizmos remain completely synchronized with the developerWorks community topic space they originated from.
