As a collaboration between web- and print-based designers, the enterprise’s first order of business was to create its own look. The proud aviator – okay, it’s a chihuahua – stands before his vintage plane, eager to get his clients’ projects off the ground. Flyingdogz set out to bring city- honed design and writing capacity to local and rural businesses around Vancouver Island. 1

Above is the road sign, at the left a sample page from the website. The sliding panel at the centre carries the website text. Ross Mountain Farm’s road sign had an image and typeface they wanted to retain as their branding. But what works for a sign doesn’t always translate to a logo, so I simplified and vectorized the image to make a logo the family still felt was theirs. Responsive website and card design followed. We grow blueberries and garden produce on our new urban farm here in Campbell River. You’ll find us at the corner of Ever- green and Petersen roads. By mid July 2013 our first market crop of blueberries will be offered for sale at our farm gate on Evergreen, and at the Pier Street Farmers Market through August. We welcome advance orders. Ross Mountain Farm is a full time passion for us. Most days you’ll see us out in the field tending the blueberries. If we’re not there, no doubt we’re working on some other aspect of the farm’s development. We’re grateful for the tremendous support we’ve received from the community for our endeavour.
