Shining
• In this clip they have changed a classic horror
movie into looking like a family movie. They
achieved this by using different music clips
that you would typically here on a family/kids
movie. The shots they use and transitions
between them help a lot, instead of using fast
paced clips which change between shot every
second, they have used longer shots with slow
transitions.
Scary Mary
• This trailer has used fast paced shots and
music that keeps the tension up. Using these
type of shots allows them to use clips from a
family movie and convince the viewer that
they’re watching a horror. The clips they use
are of what seem to be paranormal activity or
close ups of peoples face. The use of colour
effects the trailer as well, all of the scenes
used are dark and gloomy.

Clip Analysis
• Some characters in this clip are wearing casual clothes while
others are wearing suits, this indicates to us how important
the characters are. The music used is to build up tension
during the chase scene and keep the viewer on edge. A lot of
scenes used are fast paced and quick cuts, these are used
during the chase scenes to add more tension. The props
represent the characters and their role, for example, the
character dressed in a waist coat and hat picked up a shovel
whilst the other characters all have guns, this shows how his
character is weak and not as strong as the others.
