Experiments
Stephen Royle
Process
I wrote out a script on a word document before recording so that I knew what to
say and so that the recording went smooth and professional. I also added where I
wanted certain sound effects and at these points I paused in the recording to make
editing easier.
Process
At first I could not hear some of
the sound effects properly so I
used the soundboard to turn up
the master sound for the second
audio set, coded A2. I also had to
turn down A1 a little bit on the
master soundboard to fully
amplify the sound effects along
with the main sound. I kept the
sound effects and the main
sound in separate audio places
so that I could make the sounds
louder or quieter easier than if
they were on the same audio
set. Overall this went well and
this helped a lot with my audio
skills for the future.
Process
I used some audio effects such as a fade out at
the end of some of the sound effects. I did this
by going onto audio effects and then clicking
crossfade and dragging and dropping
exponential fade onto the sound effect I wanted
to put it on. This worked well as it morphed the
sound into my work a lot more. I will use this in
the future as it is a very strong effect and works
in many places.
Process
I collected my sounds from the YouTube audio library. It had all of the sounds that I
needed and helped a lot when I was looking for sounds. I stored them all together on my
USB stick from the internet to make sure that I had them safe in case Premier pro
couldn’t find my file or it got corrupted and the premier file could not open it. I had it
backed up if this happened.
Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I will use elements such as the different mixing of
sounds.
– I will also use different fade in and out effects as
well.
– I am also going to script my final piece like I did in
my experiments to make sure my final piedce is
clear and profffesional.
