Production Reflection

Process
The first thing I did was arrange
my audio in order, so I’d know
how the podcast would flow. I left
gaps between the different
sections to divide them, and then
I was going to put a transition
effect between them. However, I
decided to use a bit of horror
music from “Uppbeat” instead, I
then decided to find intro and
outro music. The intro and outro
music is called “Cheat codes) by
Cinco and the transition music is
called ”600 horses” also by Cinco.
Shortly after that, I put an
exponential fade between the
music and intro, so it was natural
and didn’t jump straight to
talking. I then added a constant
gain effect and exponential fade
effect to the first bit of transition
music because it didn’t sound
natural.
I slowed down the three speaking parts down to
97.5% and 95% after the transition music because I
delivered my lines too fast. It sounded normal after I
slowed it down, the only problem is the more you
slow it down the deeper your voice becomes that’s
why I only slowed it by 5% and 2.5%. The final thing I
did in this section was increase the audio gain on
some parts, as they were too quiet and didn’t match
with the previous audio.
Process
In this screenshot, the first thing I did was increase the audio gain
on the first two clips, so the volume matches the previous clip. I
then added a constant gain effect and an exponential fade effect
to the transitional music, so it’d fit in the context. The next section
was the behind the scenes and because the facts weren’t in order,
I had to rearrange them by slicing them with the “Razor Tool” and
putting them in an order that made sense. This section wasn’t
hard apart from finding an order that made sense and sounded
the best.
Process
This section was incredibly easy to edit because it was one take
with barely any mistakes. The part I did cut out was someone
messing up the start of their sentence, so I cut it out with the
“Razor tool” and connected it with a bit that made sense. I
think this is the section of the podcast I'm proudest of, as it
adds lightness to the podcast that was missing before.
Lightheartedness was something I was aiming for in my
planning a lot so I’m glad we got some.
Process
In this final screenshot, you can see the end of the plot summary
followed by transitionary music, the outro and the outro music. I
must’ve forgot to include a constant gain effect and an exponential
fade effect on the transition music that I didn’t notice until I started
analysing it now. If I were to make it again, I would go through and
make sure all music had exponential fades and constant gains, so the
podcast holds up throughout. Also, I should’ve made the outro
longer as it sounds rushed instead of being sincere, and I forgot to
tease a second episode. I like my podcast; it isn’t finished, this mean
next time I’d spend more time editing to make sure its perfect.
