Research
• The strengths of my research were that it showed me the type of layout I
wanted to use for my podcast and how I wanted to include the sound
effects and music without cluttering the podcast with loads of random
sounds. Another strength of my research was that it helped me to listen to
what a real podcast sounds like, this helped to make my podcast seem
more professional and easy to listen to. One more strength would be that
it gave me the idea as to what should be in my podcast and what I should
do on it, this also helped me to understand how to interview other people
in a very informal way.
• The weaknesses of my research were that, the podcasts I looked at where
all pretty similar and didn’t have many sound effects or much editing done
to them at all. I ignored that and had to just guess what a podcast with
sound effects would be like.
Planning
• The strengths of my planning are that it helped me to get some initial
ideas as to how I wanted my podcast to be laid out. It helped me to get
the idea of it being in an interview style. It also helped me to decide what I
would talk about on the podcast and who I would aim my podcast at.
Planning also helped to find the sounds I would use and needed before I
started and help me to manage my time better.
• The weakness of my planning was probably that I could have planned to
record more of the mistakes I made over again so it wasn’t so hard to
piece parts together.
Time Management
• I could have managed my time a lot better as my actually recording of the
podcast took up far too much time as I had to wait for the person I was
interviewing, also taking so much time to choose sounds for my podcast
and I could have spent more extra time at home to make sure my work
was up to date. If I had more time I would have gone back and recorded
some sections of my podcast again so that I didn’t have to cut sections of
my script out, this would help to make the podcast run a lot more
smoothly.
Target Audience Appeal
• The language used is very laid back and informal, this helps to attract
people my age. Another thing that would attract people my age to the
podcast is the content its self most people my age are aware of pop
culture whether they realize it or not. Also it is very easy to listen to, there
is no heavy discussions making it appealing as it can be an escape from
the real world and can help you to relax so it doesn’t take much effort to
listen to the podcast. I feel like I didn’t attract the male audience as much
as I wanted to, as its hard to when I was also wanting my podcast to be a
conversation between to girls. I don’t feel like my podcast is aimed at a
certain social status I think anyone my age could listen to it as the age was
my main focus because, I wanted it to be something that can be listened
to by all teenagers and everyone can relate to at least one aspect of it.
Technical Qualities
• https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wm7NpUsVfY
• The difference between this podcast and my podcast is that this podcast is
very much just a sit down and talk podcast. It is very unscripted. It is also
sonically un edited there is nothing cut out and fixed there is just the
music at the start and end of the podcast.
• The similarities of my podcast and this one is that it is pretty laid back and
sounds as thought it has a subject but no really specific script and apart
from the quiz I did the rest is not very scripted it is very loosely scripted
and so is this podcast.
Aural Qualities
• I like the sound effects I used for when the answer that was given, was
correct or not. It helped the listener to tell if it was correct or not so if you
miss me saying the it was right or not the sound effects are much more
distinct. I also like the music that runs behind the entire podcast, I tried to
use snippets of the music for the intro and the outro of the podcast, but it
didn’t sound as good. I would improve the editing of the original recording
so that I could have kept certain funny parts in the podcast, I had to take
them out because of the laughing and I wanted to keep it short and clean.
