  Guidelines for WeightedGrades GRADE CENTER  FIRST: Set up your Grade SETUP & WEIGHTS Categories  SECOND: Adjust your Weighted Total Column  THIRD: Assign the correct Categories to your Assignments  LAST: Keep entering grades and let Blackboard to the work!

  Smart Views arefor YOU if… GRADE CENTER  you want a quick snapshot of who passed a test (or SMART VIEWS assignment) - or – who didn’t.  you want a broad overview of how students are performing at different stages of the semester  you want to provide targeted feedback to students who meet the criteria you’ve selected

  GRADE  Enter agrade for every CENTER assignment (a -- does not equal a 0). BEST PRACTICES  Don’t leave ungraded attempts on an assignment (even if you’ve entered a grade).  Provide clear feedback to your students  If you need help – just ask! 

BLOGS… Students then can add their comments and respond to each other. ~ Play Time ~ Create a blog and a blog entry (you can choose to use or delete it af ter this session)

  We all knowthe most popular Wiki out there Some love it, some hate it. Regardless of ASSIGNMENT OUR feelings, our students are using it! FEATURES WIKIPEDIA What is the draw for this internet sensation? WIKIS Collaboration, the ability to change things, and accountability. This creates skills that promote a continual assessment of information and revision skills. This is REAL WORLD learning ! How can we utilize a took students already use (and passionately defend) to encourage their learning here?

  Time is aprecious commodity. As much as we may wish we had time for oral ASSIGNMENT presentations in our classes, there often is FEATURES not time. Writing skills are critical – but so are public VOICE BOARD speaking skills. There are very few professions that allow their worker bees to be silent. How can we make sure our students can both write and speak intelligently? Give your students a voice !
