Ali Mutch Sports Biography
At the beginning of 2008, Ali was taken on by Telstra BigPond to be their head news
reader and sports reporter for their new weekend sports show, BigPond Sports Weekend.
Her vast knowledge of sport was put to use as she researched and wrote all of the live
bulletins and produced the sports packages for the up to date news. She covered the
2008 Olympics as well as the A League and Cricket news for BigPond Sport Summer.
She not only reports sport, but lives it! Ali runs her own Personal Training business called
Inner Fire Fitness and has qualifications in Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness, as well as First
Aid. She loves all sports but since picking up Muay Thai Kickboxing for fitness reasons
back in 1996, Ali has become hooked. She has trained extensively, one on one with the 4
times world kickboxing champion and K1 winner for the last 8 years at the Manly Fight
Gym and has even been scouted to fight in the ring and is now a qualified Punch Fit
Instructor. Her knowledge and passion for Boxing, Kickboxing and MMA has found her in
high demand in sports reporting and interviewing, most recently being personally asked
to interview Sakio Bika, the winner of The Contender and Kali Meehan an Australian
Heavyweight champion vying to be world champion.
She has also been interviewed at many Australian fight nights and competitions as her
love and support of the sport is always evident. Ali is just about to begin filming a Boxing
show called ‘The Weigh In’ in which she will be head presenter, as well as producer and
scriptwriter.
Ali has found that her training and skills in boxing and kickboxing have worked in well
with her sports modelling. She has graced the cover of Inside Sport magazine a record
four times, resulting in her being voted ‘Inside Sport Model of the Decade’ and has even
found her martial arts skills coming in handy for TV commercials. She was handpicked
and flown to Japan to be the face of Toyota, in a ninja, cat suit wearing spy role,
showed her kicking prowess in Asics and Puma campaigns and appeared as a boxer in a
Swedish chocolate ad.
Ali has also fronted a youth lifestyle/ sports show on Fox8, where her extensive sporting
background and knowledge across all platforms was very well received.
Because of her competitive nature and love of all sports, Ali has been asked to be
involved in numerous celebrity sports events including The Clipsal 500 Motor Race
(placed 7th
after starting 11th
on the grid), The Randwick Celebrity Horse Race (placed
1st
…whilst being the only girl in the field), a football game with The Sydney Swans at the
SCG and the MS celebrity Tennis Tournament.
Ali is currently producing a documentary/ TV Series, following Lauryn Eagle in her quest
to become world champion in both water skiing and boxing that will keep her extremely
busy! Ali was also recently flown to Dubai to host the Dubai Desert Classic, a leg of the
PGA Golf tour where her love of the game made it the perfect partnership and has just
returned from Bells Beach where she did all the live crosses for the Rip Curl Pro web cast
and Fuel TV.
