This clinical study investigates the alterations of gut microbiota from colorectal adenoma (CRA) to colorectal carcinoma (CRC) using 16S rRNA sequencing on samples from 11 patients in each group alongside healthy controls. The findings indicate a significant decrease in microbial diversity in the CRA group compared to healthy controls, while a notable increase is observed in the CRC group, particularly with the abundance of Fusobacteria. These results suggest a potential link between gut microbiome composition and the progression of colorectal diseases, laying the groundwork for further research on microbiome-related biomarkers.
