available an all-encompassing HR 
and hiring platform. 
If it functions as promised, this could be the Aladdin’s 
lamp for HR managers!

Although there are numerous old-school 
software such as Taleo (owned 
by Oracle) and Jobscore available for 
talent management and hiring, there 
was still a need for a complete solution 
for human resource management.

with a $10 
million 
backing from 
Matrix 
Partners, 
aspires to 
give just that.

Lever has come up with a full suite of HR software 
that is aimed at helping companies source, 
interview, schedule, and manage their job-candidate 
pipeline. In the beta version, they are 
testing customers includingGitHub, Reddit, 
Coursera, Box, Slack, Foursquare, Quora and Lyft. 
The software suite is a SAAS-based business model 
and fee is charged based on usage by customers.

Founder and CEO, Sara Nahm, 
hasn’t disclosed the fee rates 
yet. As Nahm points out, 
O “The market is really fragmented. On the 
one hand, there are applicant tracking 
systems and products like Jobvite, 
Jobscore, Taleo, and there’s 
SuccessFactors. Then there’s this whole 
other market of agencies…It’s an old 
market.”

Perhaps that explains why 
they are shying away from 
disclosing the charges just 
yet.

The software suite comes with Chrome 
extensions as well as an email syncing 
function for sourcing if the client company 
wishes to remember or mark candidates. The 
software can be used to archive, email and tag 
candidates all at once in bulk. 
The software is of utility to agency recruiters as well 
who can store candidates in the system. They can 
also make use of features such as delayed or 
scheduled responses if they need to reject a 
candidate.

In case of interviewers, scheduling systems 
and simple feedback forms made available 
by the software make life easier! The 
software suite also creates reports for the 
overall Human Resource functioning of the 
client company to estimate whether it is 
meeting its goals.

Explaining the gap in HR management that 
the software fills, Nahm adds, “We’re really 
trying to be that system that ties together 
the entire process. There are a lot of great 
products that are optimized for or crucial 
parts of the hiring process, like HackerRank, 
but there’s not really anything that can pull 
it all together.”

O Nahm, who was 
previously a Google 
product marketing 
manager, contends 
that the “hunger” for 
these tools was so 
strong that “it was 
actually pretty 
crazy”! 
O She started the 
company in 2012 
along with Nate Smith 
and Randal Truong.

founders, “hyper-growth” 
is the new 
norm for companies 
today, as they feel the 
need to double in size 
each year while 
maintaining high
