This document analyzes the use of hippotherapy for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), discussing its effectiveness, methodologies, and the current landscape of therapeutic practices. It highlights the need for non-standardized outcome measures and qualitative observations over standardized tests to assess therapy effectiveness, along with the various implementations of hippotherapy across different sites. The findings suggest that while benefits are noted, further research and robust evidence are required to fully validate the efficacy of hippotherapy in ASD treatment.
