  Front Cover The album‘i created a disco’ by calvin harris, follows the ‘disco’ theme throughout the digipak as uses bright colours of yellow which connotes happiness and excitement and the contrast of black helps add detail. The yellow casing would help catch the audience's eye as is different from other CD cases commonly sold. The style has been well thought out as it links to the music. Calvin harris is very well known of producing dance music which is energetic and lively, and by incorporating this into his album gives his image a sense of continuity as the style of music both link in with each other. The cover also has a big close up of his face so audiences are able to see his face and be clearly recognised, the use of him wearing funky glasses add to the whole disco image. Furthermore the use of the horizontal letters which spell ‘Calvin Harris’ stand out as it’s fairly different to any other front cover as he chooses to present himself slightly different, it therefore seems very aesthetically pleasing to the audience.

  Back Cover The backcover design is slightly different to the front, which overall makes it even more interesting. As its seems like a lot is going on, the top half seems to represent the levels of music possibly the ‘beat’. This leads into the track names which are listed diagonally, this strangely angled writing seems to be present throughout the digipak which therefore makes it considerably more interesting which follows the theme throughout which is particularly important or else it can become very over powering. There is a small print in between the song listenings and the barcode, which simply outlines all the copyright details which isn't always of interest to everyone but has to be there to protect the artists music, we will therefore consider that when making our own digipak. There is a website featured at the bottom of the cover which helps to promote the website an example of synergy.Barcodes, copyright small print, track listing and promoting websites are all very typical conventions that would commonly be found of the back cover on any album as it allows the artist to be fully protected and be accessible to everyone.

  CD The cd forcalvin harris’ album carries on with the yellow colour theme, with the black typewritten style font. This again gives the design continuity. The most significant areas of the disc is is the larger writing of the artist's name and album name, as this is larger than everything else and immediately grabs audiences attention. The CD also has record label on the right hand side of the disk, this is for promotional purposes. The colour scheme is considerably important within digipaks as it marks a sign of continuity and that fact that this digipak has kept the same colours helps it considerably link them all together nicely and therefore has a much more attractive style.
