NathanGreen conducted primary research to inform the target audience for a new rock music magazine. Based on a survey of 15 respondents:
- The majority were male, aged 16-20, interested in both modern and classic rock music.
- Respondents enjoyed reading about new albums and artists in magazines and considered modern rock bands like Avenged Sevenfold and BMTH the most popular currently.
- Most felt magazines should include 2-4 articles and are bought once a month or weekly.
- One respondent suggested interviews with bands receiving media attention would be good content.
- Visual preferences were split between a page of text with an image and two full pages of text.
