Audio post-production involves several key steps to create the final soundtrack for a visual media project. It typically includes dialogue editing, automated dialogue replacement (ADR) if needed, sound effects editing and design, Foley recording, music composition and editing, mixing, and mastering. During production, the location audio is recorded by the production sound mixer and team. After filming, the audio is transferred to editing formats and synced with the video dailies to allow the editing process to begin while additional shooting may still be underway. Once filming is complete, the editing phase continues to assemble the final cut.
