Introduction
The term automation is inspired from the word “automatic”. It is
one of the greatest invention of technology. Automation is the
technique of operating an equipment by the help of a
controlled system with minimum human efforts or involvement.
It not only reduces human efforts, but also saves time.
In other words, automation means the replacement of manual
operations by machines or technologies to optimize
productivity in the production of goods and delivery of
services. It provides the quality, reliability, productivity and
efficiency which is beyond the possibility of human labor levels.
Automation are of many types industrial, process, factory,
distribution etc.
Trends
Robots such as Baxter, from Rethink Robotics, and UR10, from
Universal Robots, have arms; screens which show you their
emotions; and sensors that detect what is happening around
them. The cost of operating these is less than the cost of
human labor. In the next decade, robots will likely go on strike,
because we won’t need them anymore. They will be replaced
by 3D printers. Within 15 to 20 years, we will even be able to 3D
print electronics. Imagine being able to design our own iPhone
and print it at home.
Apple recently announced Health kit, its platform for health
information. It wants to store data from the wearable sensors
that will soon be monitoring our blood pressure, blood
oxygenation, heart rhythms, temperature, activity levels, and
other symptoms.
Bitcoin is an innovative payment network and a new kind of
money. Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with
no central authority or banks; managing transactions and the
issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network.
With cardless transactions for purchasing goods, we won’t
need the types of physical banks and financial institutions that
we presently have.
Interest Areas
My interest area in automation is robotics. If given a chance to
work in this topic I want to make a robot that will provide
security and will replace human security guards or a robot that
can scan and give all the details regarding health i.e , blood
sugar, blood pressure, a routine check up and warn us before
we fall sick, a patient would not require to go for regular check
up to the doctors.
Thank You!!
