In 2015, Banco Santander reported an attributable profit of EUR 5,966 million, representing a 3% increase compared to 2014, driven by growth in lending (6%) and customer funds (7%). The bank saw strong underlying performance with a 13% rise in profits, boosted by customer satisfaction initiatives and digital transformation, leading to a significant increase in loyal and digital customers. Capital ratios also improved, with a core CET1 capital ratio of 12.55%, exceeding regulatory requirements, while the bank distributed a 79% higher cash dividend per share.
