CQ Researcher  is a collection of reports covering controversial political and social issues.
CQ Researcher  is a great way to get an overview of a topic. Background information, timeline, current situation, and future outlook are included for each topic. Pro/con feature sums up opposite views. Annotated bibliography gives additional resources in books, journals, newspapers, and scholarly reports. CiteNow button makes using reports as sources quick and easy.
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Similar to CQ Researcher,  Opposing   Viewpoints  also covers controversial topics.
Opposing Viewpoints  has specialized “Viewpoint Essays” that sum up a particular argument.
Opposing  Viewpoints  also provides journal, reference, newspaper, and internet resources for topics. Full Text and How to Cite links available. Each article features audio and MP3 download links. Lengthy bibliographies contain many additional sources.

NewsBank  is a searchable database of local, state and regional newspapers from across the United States.

Gale Virtual Reference Library  contains specialized encyclopedias in a wide variety of subjects.

Guides to using  The CAT  are available through the University Libraries.  Click on the tutorials link from the library homepage.
The tutorial is available in both Flash and PDF versions, and printed versions are available at the front desk of the library here on campus.
Citation and Writing Guides
Citation and Writing Guides Here you’ll find Style guides for MLA, APA, Chicago, and CSE styles. Style guides for specific disciplines, such as ACS, AIP, and AMA. Citation managers like Refworks, EndNote, and Zotero. Resources for preventing plagiarism. Writing guides for help with grammar and punctuation.
