The Mustangs and Rams play Wednesday in Wichita Falls, Texas, with double-digit win streaks and perfect league marks on the line. MSU leads the men’s standings at 4-0 with an 11-game winning streak which matches the 13th longest in school history. ASU is 3-0 and has won 10 straight contests. Cameron tops the women’s standings at 4-1 after posting three LSC victories last week with wins in six of its last seven games. This week’s slate includes eight LSC contests for the men, and 10 on the women’s side. The LSC men have a 90-41 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are currently 13-6 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 8-7 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The LSC women are 71-61 overall. The women’s squads are currently 13-17 combined against the Heartland, and 6-3 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region. The LSC champion will be the regular season winner determined by league games, while the postseason tournament winner is designated as LSC Tournament Champion and earns the conference’s automatic qualification. The top eight teams in the final conference standings qualify for the postseason tournament set for March 4-7 in Allen, Texas. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK MEN’S OFFENSIVE Bretson McNeal, Midwestern State University, JR, Guard, Minneapolis, Minn., DeLaSalle HS/ND State Science McNeal poured in a game-high 23 points to lead Midwestern State to a 78-76 win over No. 10-ranked Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville. The 6-2 junior guard from Minneapolis knocked down five 3-pointers including a key double clutch triple with 2:51 to play after the Texans had cut MSU’s lead to two. McNeal then sank two free throws with 11 seconds to play to give MSU a two possession lead. It was his fifth 20-point effort of the season. MEN’S DEFENSIVE Abiodun Adegoke, Midwestern State University, SR, Forward, Buford, Ga., Mill Creek HS/Western Texas Adegoke narrowly missed out on his second consecutive double-double but finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal to key Midwestern State to a 78-76 win over Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville. The senior forward from Buford, Ga. spearheaded a strong defensive effort in the second half as MSU limited to TSU to 36.4 percent shooting from the field to claim a win for the second straight year at Wisdom Gym. WOMEN’S OFFENSIVE Jazzmine Robinson, Cameron University, SR, Guard, Las Vegas, Nev., Majave HS Robinson helped the Aggies go 3-0 last week in LSC play with 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. At Texas Woman’s, she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 77-65 victory snapping a six-game skid against the Pioneers. On Saturday, Robinson had a game-high 21 points with six boards and six assists to push CU to a 75-65 win against Tarleton State, which was the Aggies fourth win in a row against the TexAnns. She added nine points and seven rebounds in the victory over Texas A&M-Commerce. In three games, Robinson shot 48.8 percent from the field, 55.6 from the arc, and 84.6 percent at the charity stripe, and added 14 assists and three steals. WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE DJ Vallier, Cameron University, JR, Forward, Houston, Texas, Klein Oak HS Vallier came off the Cameron bench in all three games this week and showed a presence inside by knocking down 10 blocks, netting 7.7 points, and averaging 6.3 rebounds in three LSC wins. The junior pulled down 10 boards with six blocks and seven points to help CU hold off Texas A&M-Commerce on the road. In a 10-point win at home against Tarleton State, Vallier went 4-6 from the field for 11 points with six boards to help CU to its third win in a row. She helped hold opposing teams to 34.7 percent from the field and under 65 points. MEN’S OTHER TOP PERFORMERS John Gilliam, Eastern New Mexico University, turned in a strong week for the Greyhounds, with 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game against Texas A&M-Kingsville and 10th-ranked Angelo State. He shot .846 from the free-throw line, which included a career-best 14-for-16 at ASU. Gilliam also blocked three shots and had a steal against the Javelinas. Chris Jones, Angelo State University, helped lead the Rams to a pair of conference wins last week by averaging 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game to go along with seven assists and two steals. Jones scored 18 points in ASU’s road win over West Texas A&M before scoring 21 points and having five assists in a 31-point win over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday. Jones is now averaging 15.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season and lead the LSC with 88 assists (5.5 per game) and 48 steals (3.0 per game). TaShawn Mabry, Tarleton State University, led the offensive side of things last week with double-figure efforts against Midwestern State and Cameron. WOMEN’S OTHER TOP PERFORMERS Kenesha Saygo, Texas Woman’s University, led the Pioneers in scoring with 16.5 points per game in the two games last week. She scored a team-high 20 points, 4 assists and 3 steals against Cameron on Thursday and then added 13 points and four steals in an upset win at Midwestern State on Sunday. Saygo shot 43.5 percent from the floor including 44.4 percent from the three-point range. She also shot 81.8 percent from the free- throw line. Micah Weaver, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, averaged 16.0 ppg and 3.0 apg for Texas A&M-Kingsville. She shot a team-high 55.2 percent as she went 16-for-29 from the field. She scored 18 points, one short of her career-high, at Eastern New Mexico with a team best four assists. Weaver followed with a 14-point, two-assist and two-steal performance against nationally-ranked West Texas A&M. For the week, she also averaged 1.5 rpg and 1.5 spg. Chontiquah White, West Texas A&M University, averaged 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds as she helped lead the Lady Buffs to a pair of wins against Angelo State and at Texas A&M-Kingsville this week. White was a force inside going 10 of 16 from the field (.625) with one triple and 9 of 12 from the line. She tallied her sixth double- double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Angelo State last Wednesday in an 80-49 win. White scored 12 points and seven rebounds Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Sarah Stinnett, Eastern New Mexico University, totaled 30 points and 11 assists in back-to-back Lone Star Conference wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State. She registered nine points and five assists in the second half against Angelo State, as the Zias rallied from a 22-point deficit. Stinnett has reached double figures in her last eight games and in 10 of her last 11 contests. Kathy Thomas, Tarleton State University, was once again the offensive leader on the floor for Tarleton last week. She poured in 19 points against No. 20 Midwestern State to lead the TexAnns to the upset in Wisdom Gym. She followed up with 16 points in just 29 minutes Saturday at Cameron before fouling out with six minutes left in the game. She totaled 35 points last week for an average of 17.5 per game. Sasha Watson, West Texas A&M University, had another solid week on both ends of the court as she went 9 of 11 from the field (.818) and tallied nine assists with nine steals in a pair of wins for the Lady Buffs. Watson and the Lady Buffs held Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville to .350 from the field, .320 from beyond the and allowed just 27.5 rebounds per game and 52.0 points per game. Watson led the team with nine steals of the 25 for the week and WT forced 40 opponent miscues in the two games. Watson had nine of 39 assists. She is second in the LSC in assists and leads the league in steals. Tori Tucker, Eastern New Mexico University, led a Zia defensive effort which led Eastern to a pair of Lone Star Conference wins. Her efforts helped limit Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville to a .152 conversion rate from outside the arc and 57 points per game. After the Zias fell behind by 22 points at Angelo State, Tucker and the ENMU defense limited the Rambelles to 16 points, .261 from the floor without and no three-point buckets in 10 shots, over the final 16 minutes of play. Her nine rebounds were more than double the total of the next closest Zia in that game. Erin Maxwell, Texas Woman’s University, averaged a double-double in the two games last week. She posted 13.5 ppg and 13.0 rpg while shooting 40.6 percent from the floor. Maxwell scored 11 points and cleared a career-high 14 rebounds against Cameron on Thursday and then scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in an upset win at Midwestern State on Sunday. She continues to excel against the conference foes as she leads the team with 12.2 ppg and 11.2 rpg with 13 blocks in the five conference games. Lauren Jay, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, grabbed a team-high 6.5 rpg and led Texas A&M-Kingsville with 2.5 spg. Against No. 11 West Texas A&M, she grabbed a game-high seven rebounds, matched her career-high for the second straight week with four steals, dished out two assists and scored eight points. Jay began the week by putting up 11 points, six rebounds, a block and steal at Eastern New Mexico. Ikpeaku Iwobi, Tarleton State University, was spectacular for the TexAnns last week, posting a pair of double- doubles including a career-high effort of 16 rebounds in Saturday’s game at Cameron. The sophomore scored 16 and 14 points against No. 20 Midwestern State and Cameron, respectively, while grabbing 12 and 16 boards for an average of 15.0 points and 14.0 rebounds for the week. MEN’S NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State The Rams moved to 15-1 on the season with a pair of commanding wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico last week. ASU started the week with an 88-60 road win over West Texas A&M before rolling to a 112-81 win over ENMU at the Junell Center on Saturday. ASU had five player score in double figures in the two games: Chris Jones (19.5 ppg.), Demario Mayfield (17.5), Raijon Kelly (16.5), Marsell Holden (15.0) and Tommy Woolridge (12.0). ASU is outscoring its opponents by 30.2 points this season and has won by 30 or more points in 10 of 15 games this season. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team dropped hard fought games to Texas A&M- Kingsville (75-67) and tenth-ranked Angelo State (112- 81). John Gilliam registered strong performances and paced the Hounds in both scoring and rebounding in both games, while dishing out a total of nine assists. He scored 14 points in the second half against the Javelinas, as Eastern trimmed a 17-point deficit down to just three points. This week, Eastern will visit Texas A&M-Commerce and host Tarleton State. Midwestern State Midwestern State extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 78-76 win over No. 10-ranked Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville... The winning streak matches the 13th longest in school history... The Mustangs have won 10-or-more games 20 times in program history and now three times during the Nelson Haggerty era... The streak is the longest since MSU won 11-straight games last season from Jan. 25-March 7, 2014... It’s the first time MSU claimed two consecutive victories over Tarleton State in Stephenville since the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons... Midwestern ranks second in NCAA Division II in field goal percentage defense (37.4), second in total blocks (102.0), second in total rebounds (771.0), third in 3-point field goal defense (27.2), fourth in rebound margin (+11.4) and eighth in blocked shots per game (5.7)... The Texans will return to action Wednesday night when they host West Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m. Texas A&M-Commerce 2-0 last week. Texas A&M-Kingsville Texas A&M-Kingsville began the week with its first Lone Star Conference win of the season, a 75-67 victory at Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 14)... however, West Texas A&M drained 15 three-pointers en route to defeating the Javelinas on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court on Saturday... in Wednesday’s win, Will West finished with career-highs of 14 points and eight rebounds and Don Thomas added 19 points. West Texas A&M The West Texas A&M men’s basketball team split both LSC games last week, beginning with an 88-60 loss at home to #14 Angelo State on Wednesday, followed by a 71-52 rout of Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road Saturday. In that win over the Javelinas, the Buffs never trailed and led by as many as 28, draining 15 3-pointers in the game, including eight-straight to begin the second half. The Buffs will return to action Wednesday as they travel to #10 Tarleton State for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. WOMEN’S NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State The Belles are 5-10 and 0-5 to start LSC play ... ASU is shooting 39.5-percent from the field and 32.9-percent from the 3-point line ... The Belles are second in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage at 27-percent ... Amanda Weaver leads the league in 3-point percentage at 42.9-percent ... Diamalises Rivera scored a season-high 14 points against ENMU ... Jasmine Caston is third in the LSC in scoring at 14.1 per game. Cameron The Cameron women’s basketball team has climbed back to .500 after winning six of their last seven moving to 7-7 overall and 4-1 in LSC play after a 3-0 week by getting wins at Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Woman’s, and besting Tarleton State at home. The Aggies also snapped and held onto streaks last week. On Wednesday, the Aggies won at Texas A&M-Commerce for the first time since 2012, against Texas Woman’s on Thursday Cameron ended a six game skid and their 77 points scored was CU’s most against a TWU team since 2004. To end the week, Cameron bested Tarleton State for the fourth time in a row at home on Saturday to compete a busy week. On the offensive end, CU was guided by Jazzmine Robinson who continues to lead the LSC in scoring after averaging 18.7 points with a pair of 20 point games. DJ Vallier knocked down 10 blocks with 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to help CU on both sides of the floor. As a team, Cameron shot 49.7 on the floor, while holding teams to 34.7 percent. The Aggies will be at home to host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday and will travel to Angelo State on Saturday. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team evened its Lone Star Conference record at 2-2, with a pair of wins over Texas A&M- Kingsville and Angelo State, last week. The Zias never trailed against the Javelinas, en-route to a 77-58 win, but needed a strong second half to defeat the Rambelles. Trailing 40-18 midway through the second half against ASU, Eastern held the Rambelles to just 16 points the rest of the way to claim a 65-56 win. Entering the game, Angelo State had won 17 of their last home games against Eastern. The come-from- behind win marked the biggest deficit overcome by the Zias, since facing a 20-point margin against Cameron, on December 2, 2006. Midwestern State Midwestern State dropped a pair of Lone Star Conference games to Tarleton State and Texas Woman’s to fall to 13-3 on the season and 4-3 in league play... The losses snapped the second longest winning streak in program history at 12 games... The Mustangs are off to the second best start through 16 games at 13-3 as the 1989-90 squad rolled out to a 14-2 mark... MSU continues to boast the top scoring defense in the Lone Star Conference allowing 58.8 points per game... Sophomore Kenesha Saygo led the Pioneers with 20 points while senior Ashley Salazar added 15 points to the TWU cause against Cameron. TWU sophomore Erin Maxwell chipped in 11 points and cleared a game and career-high 14 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. Sophomore Deja Pointer also stuffed the stat sheet for the Pioneers as she totaled six points, seven rebounds and four assists. Against MSU, Maxwell led the team with a career-high 16 points on 8-for-16 shooting and cleared a game-high 12 rebounds. Saygo also reached double digits in scoring with 13 points while senior Ria Pateraki added nine points. The Pioneers will play two more games this week. TWU will host Eastern New Mexico on Thursday before traveling to Canyon, TX, to face West Texas A&M on Sunday. West Texas A&M The Lady Buffs used a pair of wins this week to move to 3-1 in Lone Star Conference play and 12-2 overall...With the wins and two losses by Midwestern State, the Lady Buffs moved into a tie for first in the loss column with Cameron (4-1)...WT won the first meeting with Cameron earlier this season in Canyon...For the week, the Lady Buffs shot .505 from the field, a season-best .400 from beyond the arc and a season-best .735 from the line...WT averaged 76.0 points per game and allowed just 52, while allowing just 27.5 rebounds per game...Senior Chontiquah White led the way with her sixth double-double of the season against Angelo State averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the week...Junior transfer Michaela Neuhaus returned to the court after missing seven games with a broken hand on Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville as she scored seven points on 2 of 4 from the field and 2 of 2 from beyond the arc with one free throw...WT had seven players shoot .500 or better for the week as sophomore Sasha Watson went a team-best 9 of 11 form the field for a .818 clip...Watson led the team with nine assists and nine steals...She is second in the LSC in assists and leads the league in steals...White had just one offensive rebound for the week, but pulled down 16 of 50 on the defensive end...WT head coach Mark Kellogg improved to 44-5 at WT and is closing in on becoming the fastest coach in the modern era at WT to win 50 games.

    Integrity | Tradition| Academic Excellence | LONE STAR CONFERENCE | Community | Respect | Commitment LSC BASKETBALL The Midwestern State and Angelo State men remain unbeaten in Lone Star Conference contests. The Mustangs and Rams play Wednesday in Wichita Falls, Texas, with double-digit win streaks and perfect league marks on the line. MSU leads the men’s standings at 4-0 with an 11-game winning streak which matches the 13th longest in school history. ASU is 3-0 and has won 10 straight contests. Cameron tops the women’s standings at 4-1 after posting three LSC victories last week with wins in six of its last seven games. This week’s slate includes eight LSC contests for the men, and 10 on the women’s side. The LSC men have a 90-41 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are currently 13-6 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 8-7 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The LSC women are 71-61 overall. The women’s squads are currently 13-17 combined against the Heartland, and 6-3 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region. The LSC champion will be the regular season winner determined by league games, while the postseason tournament winner is designated as LSC Tournament Champion and earns the conference’s automatic qualification. The top eight teams in the final conference standings qualify for the postseason tournament set for March 4-7 in Allen, Texas. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK MEN’S OFFENSIVE Bretson McNeal, Midwestern State University, JR, Guard, Minneapolis, Minn., DeLaSalle HS/ND State Science McNeal poured in a game-high 23 points to lead Midwestern State to a 78-76 win over No. 10-ranked Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville. The 6-2 junior guard from Minneapolis knocked down five 3-pointers including a key double clutch triple with 2:51 to play after the Texans had cut MSU’s lead to two. McNeal then sank two free throws with 11 seconds to play to give MSU a two possession lead. It was his fifth 20-point effort of the season. MEN’S DEFENSIVE Abiodun Adegoke, Midwestern State University, SR, Forward, Buford, Ga., Mill Creek HS/Western Texas Adegoke narrowly missed out on his second consecutive double-double but finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal to key Midwestern State to a 78-76 win over Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville. The senior forward from Buford, Ga. spearheaded a strong defensive effort in the second half as MSU limited to TSU to 36.4 percent shooting from the field to claim a win for the second straight year at Wisdom Gym. WOMEN’S OFFENSIVE Jazzmine Robinson, Cameron University, SR, Guard, Las Vegas, Nev., Majave HS Robinson helped the Aggies go 3-0 last week in LSC play with 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. At Texas Woman’s, she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 77-65 victory snapping a six-game skid against the Pioneers. On Saturday, Robinson had a game-high 21 points with six boards and six assists to push CU to a 75-65 win against Tarleton State, which was the Aggies fourth win in a row against the TexAnns. She added nine points and seven rebounds in the victory over Texas A&M-Commerce. In three games, Robinson shot 48.8 percent from the field, 55.6 from the arc, and 84.6 percent at the charity stripe, and added 14 assists and three steals. WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE DJ Vallier, Cameron University, JR, Forward, Houston, Texas, Klein Oak HS Vallier came off the Cameron bench in all three games this week and showed a presence inside by knocking down 10 blocks, netting 7.7 points, and averaging 6.3 rebounds in three LSC wins. The junior pulled down 10 boards with six blocks and seven points to help CU hold off Texas A&M-Commerce on the road. In a 10-point win at home against Tarleton State, Vallier went 4-6 from the field for 11 points with six boards to help CU to its third win in a row. She helped hold opposing teams to 34.7 percent from the field and under 65 points. MEN’S OTHER TOP PERFORMERS John Gilliam, Eastern New Mexico University, turned in a strong week for the Greyhounds, with 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game against Texas A&M-Kingsville and 10th-ranked Angelo State. He shot .846 from the free-throw line, which included a career-best 14-for-16 at ASU. Gilliam also blocked three shots and had a steal against the Javelinas. Chris Jones, Angelo State University, helped lead the Rams to a pair of conference wins last week by averaging 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game to go along with seven assists and two steals. Jones scored 18 points in ASU’s road win over West Texas A&M before scoring 21 points and having five assists in a 31-point win over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday. Jones is now averaging 15.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season and lead the LSC with 88 assists (5.5 per game) and 48 steals (3.0 per game). TaShawn Mabry, Tarleton State University, led the offensive side of things last week with double-figure efforts against Midwestern State and Cameron. Micah Weaver, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, averaged 16.0 ppg and 3.0 apg for Texas A&M-Kingsville. She shot a team-high 55.2 percent as she went 16-for-29 from the field. She scored 18 points, one short of her career-high, at Eastern New Mexico with a team best four assists. Weaver followed with a 14-point, two-assist and two-steal performance against nationally-ranked West Texas A&M. For the week, she also averaged 1.5 rpg and 1.5 spg. Chontiquah White, West Texas A&M University, averaged 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds as she helped lead the Lady Buffs to a pair of wins against Angelo State and at Texas A&M-Kingsville this week. White was a force inside going 10 of 16 from the field (.625) with one triple and 9 of 12 from the line. She tallied her sixth double- double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Angelo State last Wednesday in an 80-49 win. White scored 12 points and seven rebounds Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Sarah Stinnett, Eastern New Mexico University, totaled 30 points and 11 assists in back-to-back Lone Star Conference wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State. She registered nine points and five assists in the second half against Angelo State, as the Zias rallied from a 22-point deficit. Stinnett has reached double figures in her last eight games and in 10 of her last 11 contests. Kathy Thomas, Tarleton State University, was once again the offensive leader on the floor for Tarleton last week. She poured in 19 points against No. 20 Midwestern State to lead the TexAnns to the upset in Wisdom Gym. She followed up with 16 points in just 29 minutes Saturday at Cameron before fouling out with six minutes left in the game. She totaled 35 points last week for an average of 17.5 per game. Sasha Watson, West Texas A&M University, had another solid week on both ends of the court as she went 9 of 11 from the field (.818) and tallied nine assists with nine steals in a pair of wins for the Lady Buffs. Watson and the Lady Buffs held Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville to .350 from the field, .320 from beyond the and allowed just 27.5 rebounds per game and 52.0 points per game. Watson led the team with nine steals of the 25 for the week and WT forced 40 opponent miscues in the two games. Watson had nine of 39 assists. She is second in the LSC in assists and leads the league in steals. Tori Tucker, Eastern New Mexico University, led a Zia defensive effort which led Eastern to a pair of Lone Star Conference wins. Her efforts helped limit Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville to a .152 conversion rate from outside the arc and 57 points per game. After the Zias fell behind by 22 points at Angelo State, Tucker and the ENMU defense limited the Rambelles to 16 points, .261 from the floor without and no three-point buckets in 10 shots, over the final 16 minutes of play. Her nine rebounds were more than double the total of the next closest Zia in that game. Erin Maxwell, Texas Woman’s University, averaged a double-double in the two games last week. She posted 13.5 ppg and 13.0 rpg while shooting 40.6 percent from the floor. Maxwell scored 11 points and cleared a career-high 14 rebounds against Cameron on Thursday and then scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in an upset win at Midwestern State on Sunday. She continues to excel against the conference foes as she leads the team with 12.2 ppg and 11.2 rpg with 13 blocks in the five conference games. Lauren Jay, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, grabbed a team-high 6.5 rpg and led Texas A&M-Kingsville with 2.5 spg. Against No. 11 West Texas A&M, she grabbed a game-high seven rebounds, matched her career-high for the second straight week with four steals, dished out two assists and scored eight points. Jay began the week by putting up 11 points, six rebounds, a block and steal at Eastern New Mexico. Ikpeaku Iwobi, Tarleton State University, was spectacular for the TexAnns last week, posting a pair of double- doubles including a career-high effort of 16 rebounds in Saturday’s game at Cameron. The sophomore scored 16 and 14 points against No. 20 Midwestern State and Cameron, respectively, while grabbing 12 and 16 boards for an average of 15.0 points and 14.0 rebounds for the week. MEN’S NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State The Rams moved to 15-1 on the season with a pair of commanding wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico last week. ASU started the week with an 88-60 road win over West Texas A&M before rolling to a 112-81 win over ENMU at the Junell Center on Saturday. ASU had five player score in double figures in the two games: Chris Jones (19.5 ppg.), Demario Mayfield (17.5), Raijon Kelly (16.5), Marsell Holden (15.0) and Tommy Woolridge (12.0). ASU is outscoring its opponents by 30.2 points this season and has won by 30 or more points in 10 of 15 games this season. John Gilliam registered strong performances and paced the Hounds in both scoring and rebounding in both games, while dishing out a total of nine assists. He scored 14 points in the second half against the Javelinas, as Eastern trimmed a 17-point deficit down to just three points. This week, Eastern will visit Texas A&M-Commerce and host Tarleton State. Midwestern State Midwestern State extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 78-76 win over No. 10-ranked Tarleton State Wednesday night in Stephenville... The winning streak matches the 13th longest in school history... The Mustangs have won 10-or-more games 20 times in program history and now three times during the Nelson Haggerty era... The streak is the longest since MSU won 11-straight games last season from Jan. 25-March 7, 2014... West Texas A&M The West Texas A&M men’s basketball team split both LSC games last week, beginning with an 88-60 loss at home to #14 Angelo State on Wednesday, followed by a 71-52 rout of Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road Saturday. In that win over the Javelinas, the Buffs never trailed and led by as many as 28, draining 15 3-pointers in the game, including eight-straight to begin the second half. The Buffs will return to action Wednesday as they travel to #10 Tarleton State for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. Cameron The Cameron women’s basketball team has climbed back to .500 after winning six of their last seven moving to 7-7 overall and 4-1 in LSC play after a 3-0 week by getting wins at Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Woman’s, and besting Tarleton State at home. The Aggies also snapped and held onto streaks last week. On Wednesday, the Aggies won at Texas A&M-Commerce for the first time since 2012, against Texas Woman’s on Thursday Cameron ended a six game skid and their 77 points scored was CU’s most against a TWU team since 2004. To end the week, Cameron bested Tarleton State for the fourth time in a row at home on Saturday to compete a busy week. On the offensive end, CU was guided by Jazzmine Robinson who continues to lead the LSC in scoring after averaging 18.7 points with a pair of 20 point games. DJ Vallier knocked down 10 blocks with 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to help CU on both sides of the floor. As a team, Cameron shot 49.7 on the floor, while holding teams to 34.7 percent. The Aggies will be at home to host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday and will travel to Angelo State on Saturday. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team evened its Lone Star Conference record at 2-2, with a pair of wins over Texas A&M- Kingsville and Angelo State, last week. The Zias never trailed against the Javelinas, en-route to a 77-58 win, but needed a strong second half to defeat the Rambelles. Trailing 40-18 midway through the second half against ASU, Eastern held the Rambelles to just 16 points the rest of the way to claim a 65-56 win. Entering the game, Angelo State had won 17 of their last home games against Eastern. The come-from- behind win marked the biggest deficit overcome by the Zias, since facing a 20-point margin against Cameron, on December 2, 2006. Midwestern State Midwestern State dropped a pair of Lone Star Conference games to Tarleton State and Texas Woman’s to fall to 13-3 on the season and 4-3 in league play... The losses snapped the second longest winning streak in program history at 12 games... The Mustangs are off to the second best start through 16 games at 13-3 as the 1989-90 squad rolled out to a 14-2 mark... Sophomore Kenesha Saygo led the Pioneers with 20 points while senior Ashley Salazar added 15 points to the TWU cause against Cameron. TWU sophomore Erin Maxwell chipped in 11 points and cleared a game and career-high 14 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. Sophomore Deja Pointer also stuffed the stat sheet for the Pioneers as she totaled six points, seven rebounds and four assists. Against MSU, Maxwell led the team with a career-high 16 points on 8-for-16 shooting and cleared a game-high 12 rebounds. Saygo also reached double digits in scoring with 13 points while senior Ria Pateraki added nine points. The Pioneers will play two more games this week. TWU will host Eastern New Mexico on Thursday before traveling to Canyon, TX, to face West Texas A&M on Sunday. West Texas A&M The Lady Buffs used a pair of wins this week to move to 3-1 in Lone Star Conference play and 12-2 overall...With the wins and two losses by Midwestern State, the Lady Buffs moved into a tie for first in the loss column with Cameron (4-1)...WT won the first meeting with Cameron earlier this season in Canyon...For the week, the Lady Buffs shot .505 from the field, a season-best .400 from beyond the arc and a season-best .735 from the line...WT averaged 76.0 points per game and allowed just 52, while allowing just 27.5 rebounds per game...Senior Chontiquah White led the way with her sixth double-double of the season against Angelo State averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the week...Junior transfer Michaela Neuhaus returned to the court after missing seven games with a broken hand on Saturday at Texas A&M-Kingsville as she scored seven points on 2 of 4 from the field and 2 of 2 from beyond the arc with one free throw...WT had seven players shoot .500 or better for the week as sophomore Sasha Watson went a team-best 9 of 11 form the field for a .818 clip...Watson led the team with nine assists and nine steals...She is second in the LSC in assists and leads the league in steals...White had just one offensive rebound for the week, but pulled down 16 of 50 on the defensive end...WT head coach Mark Kellogg improved to 44-5 at WT and is closing in on becoming the fastest coach in the modern era at WT to win 50 games.
