I can use the skills that I developed while obtaining an Associates of Applied Business in Accounting degree and those I gained from working at the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Compliance Officer and Revenue Agent. These skills include the ability to read and prepare financial statements, books, records, and other business documents. They also include the ability to prepare and audit individual income tax returns and the ability to review and make appropriate determinations on applications that were submitted by organizations that were seeking tax-exempt status. I can use my research skills to research the generally accepted accounting principles for further clarification and understanding on matters that I am not familiar with. I can also research the tax law, rules, and regulations to make the necessary and appropriate tax assessments and to prepare tax return and to inform and educate the necessary individuals. I can also use my effective oral and written communication skills to inform, educate, and persuade people of all backgrounds.

I am truly prepared and excited about combining these interests to further my career. While employed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), I was able to use my skills and abilities to learn and perform complex and highly technical tasks. I worked on various special projects that helped to efficiently and effectively meet and/or exceed organizational and departmental goals. I have the ability to train, mentor, and monitor new-hires. I have strong and effective leadership skills that was developed and enhanced during my employment with the IRS as I was given several Acting Group Manager assignments. During the time I was employed in the fast-food industry, I was able to work my way up from Cashier to Shift Supervisor. I would love the chance to explore entry-level accounting or management opportunities with organizations in the Cincinnati area.
