  Story – “Penny”<br/>Track the penny throughout its daily life and follow it as it changes hands.<br />Two protagonists:<br /> Penny: Female, early 20s-ish, middle class.<br />James: Male, early 20s-ish, middle class.<br />Other characters: <br />Young boy<br />Depressed looking person<br />Flip coin at the end in response to question – “will you marry me?” – slow motion penny flip<br />Opening shot in the sweet shop - young boy buying penny chews. Close up on boy receiving his change - one of the pennies – old looking. Boy leaves shop and walks down the street, pausing to drop the penny into a charity collection box held by a young woman, Penny. Cuts to her counting the money from the box. The one pence coin rolls out and falls onto the ground – picked up by a young man – James - with whom Penny falls in love at first sight. They look into each other’s eyes for a moment and then the screen goes black for around five seconds. The words “two years later” appear in simple white font across the screen and then fade out, and the black cuts to show Penny and James standing together outside the sweet shop. It is then that he proposes. She smiles and throws the coin over her shoulder, where it is picked up by a depressed looking person.<br />Silent film. Only dialogue “will you marry me?”<br />
