BUOYANCY
Buoyancy is the upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of an immersed object. The pressure of the fluid increases with depth, creating a greater force pushing up on objects lower in the fluid. The buoyant force can be measured by subtracting the weight of an object in water from its weight in air, and is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object.
