Mission of the Campus:
The global military operational environment coupled with the current domestic economic situation has
made clear the need for a non-virtual singular centralized organization designed and willing to
incorporate all effective military support services; DoD and civilian for the benefit of the Reserve
Component and their families. Camp Alliance has been created for this purpose and Northwest
Arkansas’ corporate and community support is poised to lead the way in the development of a regional
campus and national Reserve Component outreach support program.
Why the need:
Paraphrasing a currently serving Army Reservist says it best…While we utilize the same weaponry,
theater, and training programs, and execute duties-in-combat at the same level of devotion, we are
not afforded the same infrastructure as the Active Duty Component of the United States Military.
Most Americans assume that we share the same level of family support. But, unlike the Active Duty
Component, our families are not living near or on a post, or working through deployments in an
understanding community. We are left alone, scattered across the nation, and isolated. Our families
are silent members in communities being impacted by the constant flux of military life in a civilian
world. Yet, we continue to endure.
Consider how Active Duty personnel and families work and train at least 320 days a year as a unit
for operational tempo. In contrast, Reservists train for 300 hours a year to develop the same skills
and cohesion. CA is the only way we can truly maximize those hours, to efficiently and effectively
reach the soldier and the family. Furthermore, Camp Alliance is creating a sustainable and symbiotic
relationship with the Military, and continues to build collaborating partnerships to improve services
for as long as the military exists.
How the campus will work
The campus will be capable of simultaneously serving military branches and units with their
required training to include Yellow Ribbon Programming, Unit Family Day Activities, Physical
Fitness Testing, the Soldier Readiness Process (SRP) and more. The total complex includes:
lodging, dining facility, indoor/ outdoor rec center, Yellow Ribbon building, SRP building,
Children/ Youth Center, Welcome Center and more.
Campus Vitality
The campus introduces a fundamental change in the culture of the Reserve Component. Never
before has there been a place for innovative and flexible family outreach. It will be the place where
high-risk families can look with hope to the future. And, above all, it will be a community centered
on military and civilians coming together in the pursuit of education, resilience, health and wellness.
Impact of the Campus:
From a military tactical standpoint; Camp Alliance is important because it aids in the organization of
Commander and unit support, deployment and redeployment services, soldier training and
processing along with military family mission readiness.

The Heart of our Mission:
The Reserve Component service member along with their spouses, children, mothers, fathers and loved
ones are part of a proud time honored corps of individuals. They all have sacrificed to protect the
citizens of the United States by serving both abroad and at home. However, the service they perform
and the sacrifices they endure do not come without a price. In 2012 suicides trended upwards and for
the first time in over a decade more military service members lost their lives to suicide than to combat
casualties, with many of the deaths occurring in the Reserve Component. Suicide in not the only
alarming increase there has been a dramatic rise in domestic violence and other violent crimes occurring
when service men and women return to civilian life after combat tours. This increase in violent crime
has prompted some communities along with the legal system to create Veterans Courts to handle the
unique nature of this growing case load. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries
(TBI), marital discourse and divorce along with alcoholism and substance abuse just scratch the surface
of challenges faced by every Reserve Component Commander. Each weekend drill, each deployment
train-up and certainly each post-deployment reintegration requires Commanders to monitor the health
and the quality of life of his subordinates to ensure their safety. All of this added to their military
responsibility to reset, train and prepare to deploy again with shrinking budgets and government
resources. Placing a label, such as “at risk” on these heroes is a disservice to their character: To the
Marine who still hears the whizzing bullet ringing in his hear when he closes his eyes; to the parents who
are so proud of their daughter; because after a six month recovery she reenlisted and now serves as a
recruiter in the Army National Guard; to the wife who rocks a newborn girl as her husband who has not
yet seen his first baby girl serves in Afghanistan. For these proud families “at risk” is a way of life, but
forgotten in all the pride and glory is: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless-Service, Honor, Integrity and
Personal Courage does not make someone invincible; it just makes them and their family a member of
the United States Armed Forces.
Simple & Successful:
The premise is simple, yet very effective. Engage Reserve Component Commanders and leadership,
empowering them by providing increased resources and support from the American people (individuals,
businesses, and organizations) via a nonprofit organization designed specifically to increase Unit mission
readiness by increasing family readiness.
Who drives the Vision/mission
o The Guard and Reserve force along with the service-family is best ambassador
and driving force of the mission. Camp Alliance is an institution of the people, for
the people, and will always strive beyond mediocrity.

Volunteer:
Why volunteer for CA?
We honor the many brave men, women & families that preserve and protect our freedoms. Camp
Alliance takes great and deliberate care to express our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
Top reasons to volunteer for CA:
Make a difference. The number one reason to volunteer isn’t about you at all – it’s about others. It’s
about giving back to our community and the people in it.
Experience a change of scenery. When you leave your office or home to help those who serve in today’s
military may just open your mind to new ideas and a change of perspective.
Better understand the challenges faced by citizen soldiers and their families. To paraphrase Dr. Seuss,
“Oh the things that you’ll learn.”
Direct your talents for public good. Take what you’re good at and apply it with purpose. Whether you’re
a student, artist, Veteran, teacher, or an accountant or we can benefit from your talents.
Gain new skills. Stretch yourself.
Continue the family tradition, or start a new one
We, its citizens, who daily reap the benefits of the freedoms that so many brave men and women
preserve and protect, should likewise take great and deliberate care to express our gratitude for their
service and sacrifice.

Overview
Cause-related marketing and promotions on behalf of the Greater Military Family WILL provide a way
for citizens to monetarily support the Guard and Reserve forces and their families within their daily lives.
After all, shortage in funding is the greatest barrier keeping the Military Family from the support that
they need.
OWNING THE MISSION
In connection with all cause-related marketing promotions benefiting the Guard, Reserve and their
families, we require partners to help raise awareness about the large-scale “War Effort” to improve the
lives of service members and their families.
• Camp Alliance’s model of support is built from the Unit commander up - supporting our military where
they need it most. Rallying support for the over 9,000 Units calls for businesses that are engrained in
the heart of thousands of communities; national businesses that under-stands the unique demands of
those communities, and understands the value of becoming more intricately involved in the heart of
those communities-
• Camp Alliance needs businesses with the ability to help communicate the mission to Americans in
their respective communities; a partner who shares our commitment to service families and knows the
intricate role communities will have to take in the future to preserve and defend our way of life -
• Camp Alliance needs a strategic partners our country’s leading manufacturers, leading businessmen
and women, leading employers and leading visionaries; to introduce a new model of support for our
military. American companies to OWN THE MISSION. We need strategic partners to be SUPPORT FOR
THOSE WHO SERVE.
