When I started college, I thought that I wanted
to be an athletic trainer. I went through the
Sports Medicine program at my high school and
loved it. However, I chose Clemson over schools
that have accredited AT programs such as
South Carolina, Winthrop, and College of
Charleston because of Clemson’s atmosphere. I
applied and was accepted into the college of
HEHD for Health Science. I was originally Pre-
Professional Health Studies, but I knew that I
did not want to go to medical school, so I
switched to the Health Promotion and
Education.
 Degree: Bachelor of Science
 College: Health and Human Development
 Major: Health Science
 Minor: Psychology (will be added at the end
of this semester)
 Concentration: Health Promotion and
Education
 GPA: 3.39
I used my senior status this semester to register for
graduate level classes and begin a graduate degree
in Youth Development Leadership. I met the dean of
the program, Dr. William Quinn, and he helped me
to get the necessary overrides. The program is
designed for two years including four summer
classes, so I will complete it Fall of 2017. I will be
taking the GRE at the end of this spring semester. I
will be meeting with the graduate admissions office
sometime this week to determine when I need to
complete the application process.
 YDL fees – $663 a class (12 classes total)
 GRE – revised General Test – taking it in May
2016 – $160
 CHES – Certified Health Educator Specialist –
taking it in May 2017 – $250
 Social (35) – prefer direct service or helping
opportunities involving advising, counseling,

here at Clemson. I have been on the research
team for a year now and our preliminary
research paper is in the final stages of being

Review, so I have experience in health

volunteering with ClemsonLIFE, I realized that I
have a passion for working with special needs
youth as well. So, ideally, I want a career
working to promote healthy positive lifestyles in
