Easter Island is located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile and is famous for its large stone heads called Moai. The Moai are between 11 and 20 feet tall, weigh around 10 tons each, and there are approximately 600 scattered across the island. While some believe that aliens created the giant stone heads, most experts think they were carved and erected by the native Easter Islanders, though it remains a mystery how they were able to move and position such heavy statues without modern technology.
