  CAUGHT – GEORGIE& LAUREN INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY Close up of feet, walks to an empty crisp packet - feet stop when they reach the crisp packet. Pan up from feet to reveal LILA SMITH, early twenties, sighs and picks up the rubbish from the floor. She looks tired, with heavy bags under her eyes. Wide shot of living room, close up, there are empty bottle and multiple glasses, either empty or half filled around the room, wide shot there are clothes scattered on the floor and abandoned sleeping bags on the sofa. LILA continues to attempt the clean the mess. Close up, in focus on a comic lighter, out of focus around the lighter. LILA notices the lighter and picks it up, sighing. She exits the room. INT. LILA’S BEDROOM - DAY LILA steps into her dimly lit room, wide shot the bed is made on half of the bed and the other half is messy, as if it’s been slept in. close up (of) LILA places the lighter on the bedside table of the made up half of the bed close up. Wide shot She smooths the bed, and places her hand on her head - she looks close to tears. Pop punk music can be heard. LILA looks confused, and leaves the frame. INT. DAWN’S BEDROOM - DAY Wide shot,DAWN SMITH, fifteen, is on her bed listening to music with her laptop open, loud pop punk music can be heard. DAWN’S room is tidier than the living room, there are worn t- shirts surrounding her on the bed, her school bag is emptied out on the bed. LILA bursts through the door and steps in the room. DAWN doesn’t look up. LILA (Voice gets louder each time she calls) Dawn. Dawn! DAWN! DAWN doesn’t respond, instead increases the volume of her music from her laptop. LILA sighs and taps the mute button on DAWN’S laptop. DAWN does not look up at her, she unmutes her music. This is repeated three times before LILA slams DAWN’S laptop closed. DAWN What? LILA Can you not listen to that quietly? DAWN I’m revising LILA

  CAUGHT – GEORGIE& LAUREN (rolls eyes) I don’t know how you can concentrate with the music so loud DAWN Yeah, god knows how I was able to concentrate with them here 24/7. Good riddance. LILA (Looks guilty) Dawn, I’m sorry it’s just been so difficult lately (interrupted) DAWN Oh yeah I’m sure it’s been so difficult with your new friends and her always around. LILA Yeah, well it’s nice to have some new people in our lives! After everything that’s happened I’d think you’d be happy for me? DAWN (Shoots look at LILA) I want to be happy for you but… this is our home, and they’re messing it up! I know after the burglary everything was horrible but I don’t think she’s been as much of a godsend as you think! LILA (looking rather taken aback) ...Dawn...You’ve never expressed any dislike towards her before? Where did this come from? DAWN (looks slightly guilty but still determined) I’ve always felt this way. I just didn’t want to upset you. I- I know how hard this has all been for you. After losing Mum and Dad and having to drop out of college to look after me. LILA (voice is strained) I don’t mind Dawn DAWN I know.. It’s just, I don’t want you to go LILA Dawn, I’m not going anywhere

  CAUGHT – GEORGIE& LAUREN DAWN But you’re planning on it LILA What? What do you mean? (Interrupted) DAWN I know about the gang and the money (interrupted) LILA (Attempts to deny) D-Dawn.. I don’t know what you think you know.. But it’s not what you think.. DAWN God Lila! Stop treating me like a kid! I know you stole back the money from that gang, and I know she made you do it! LILA Sam didn’t make me do anything! DAWN You wouldn’t have done it if she weren’t here! LILA They took what was ours! DAWN That doesn’t make it okay LILA (sighs) You’re right.. But what am I going to do now? Turn myself in? DAWN Don’t be stupid LILA (Slowly sits down on bed) Everyone else has gone, I’m the only one left, it won’t be long until they come for me.. DAWN

LILA You’ll be better off without me, someone will look after you and teach you how to be a better person DAWN (Starts crying) You can’t leave me! Let’s get away from here! We can leave! LILA No, they’ll find us. There’s no point. LILA hugs DAWN, resting her chin on her head. I’m sorry I couldn’t be a better role model for you, DAWN. DAWN I’ll miss you. FADE TO BLACK
