This study investigates the challenges of solid waste management in the Sakubva high-density suburb of Mutare, Zimbabwe, highlighting issues related to waste collection, disposal methods, and the roles of key stakeholders. Findings indicate that poor refuse collection, insufficient disposal receptacles, and a lack of recycling strategies lead to critical waste management challenges, exacerbated by rapid urbanization. Recommendations include increasing waste collection frequency, providing proper receptacles, enhancing recycling awareness, and involving private sectors and NGOs in waste management efforts.
