Good Hygiene
• Goal: I want parents and children – but mainly parents to get the message that good hygiene should be a part of everyone’s
     life.
• Audience: General Community, specifically parents of children.
• Message: that good hygiene should be a part of everyone’s life.

I am hoping that by parents seeing this sign and reading it and learning from it – that they will start to get their children to
practice some of the concepts/ideas that the sign talks about. And as many parents do – I would hope that they subconsciously
start to model the desired behavior. (I consciously model desired behavior in front of my students without making note of it –
given time, my students mimic me.)

The design of this slide morphed over several stages to what it is in the final stage. The initial design was something standalone,
but it eventually became something more as I added more information, more pictures, changed the color scheme, and modified
the text. The final design will be placed in areas that are commonly accessed by my audience; parents/adults. This will include the
local health clinic, convenience store, and various spots around the school. The design is simplistic with basic language because
my audience is not fully literate in the English language. The boy brushing his teeth, and in the bathtub might make more sense
than the words that surround those pictures. In the final slide the boy in the bathtub appears washed out (pun intended!) and is
hard to see when viewed on computers other than my own – the image appears fine when I print it, so I do not know what is
going on with that …
Slide 1
• In this slide, I went with something basic; a
photograph of a child that resembles those
that would be found in my community, and
some basic text that would be easy to
  understand.
Slide 2
• This is actually assignment 3 or 4 – we see a
big jump, I no longer just have the one picture
and one piece of information. Instead I have
more than one picture, more information, and
I am using a rather subdued color scheme.
Slide 3
• In this slide I worked a lot on contrast –
looking at the color scheme, the photos and
what I could do to apply repetition, contrast,
balance, and type to the piece to bring it
  together.
Slide 4
• Again, I am working with contrast and
  repetition.
Slide 5
• I brought it all together in this slide.
   – Repetition
   – Contrast
   – Weighted type to divide sections
   – Pictures
   – Alignment
• Not quite perfect, but far from where it was at
  the beginning.
