A clap switch circuit uses a condenser microphone, transistor, 555 timer IC, LED, and battery to turn on lights or appliances when it detects the sound of a clap. The microphone converts sound into an electrical signal that triggers the transistor and 555 timer IC, causing the LED to illuminate anything connected to the circuit like a light bulb. This provides a hands-free way to operate devices that can benefit elderly or mobility-impaired users.
