Phrases and clauses are units/parts
of sentences.
A phrase is a group of related words that DOES
NOT contain a SUBJECT and VERB and is used as
a part of speech in a sentence. A phrase cannot be a
complete idea or a complete sentence by itself.
N.B. The subject is the person or thing
carrying out an action in a sentence.

forms a sentence or part of a sentence.
A typical clause consist of a subject
and a predicate.
Predicate: a verb/the part of a sentence
that contains a verb and is stating
something about the subject.
A clause must also have meaning on
its own.

the mountain, the tour
group rested and took in the views.
