  I chose mymasthead on the website ‘dafont’. I chose the font I wanted and typed in the words I was going to use. Here I have pasted it onto Photoshop so I can play about with it until I get the right design I want.

  The tool highlightedI used to draw a empty box around my masthead. I then pressed ‘cut’ so I could delete the rest of the print screen I didn’t want. I then pasted it back onto Photoshop so I could add colour. Before I could add colour I had to get rid of the back ground around the words I wanted to use because I just wanted to letters not the white background. To do this I used the magic wand tool, I just pressed around the picture with this and then deleted it.

  To add colourto my masthead I had to use the filling in tool. Here I picked the colours I wanted my masthead to be. I wanted it to stand out so I chose two bright colours that worked well with each other. I then zoomed in so I could see the letters I wanted to be a colour more clearly. I then pressed with the filling in tool on the letter and it filled the letter in the colour I had selected. This is after I filled in the letters with the colours I has chosen.

  This is themain image I’m using for my front cover. I wanted it to stand out so I changed the image to black and white and then chose the options when picking a style ‘colour burn’. This is my masthead on the main image.

  Before the effect was added. I then added a layer style to the masthead to make it stand out more. After the effect was added.

  Here I haveadded a barcode to my college magazine. Here I have added a price Here I have and a issue number. You made the price cant really see it so I’ll add and then issue an effect. number thicker so its more obvious to the human eye.
