I am proudand excited to introduce ComEd’s inaugural Diversity & Inclusion report, “A Whole New Light.” In this report, we illustrate how our legacy of championing diversity has powered ComEd’s commitment to our customers and employees, as well as our dedication to the communities we serve, the economy we support and our continuing forward momentum in a rapidly changing industry. ComEd’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive culture is an integral part of who we are and, simply put, it’s the way we do business. I am inspired every day by our talented employees who combine their breadth of backgrounds and adeptness at problem-solving to generate innovative solutions that create better experiences for our customers. Promoting diverse business and community relationships has always been a core ComEd value. Over the past four years, ComEd nearly doubled its investments in diverse businesses run by women, Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans and more — and we are generating new opportunities to empower these businesses as we continue to modernize Illinois’s electric infrastructure through investment in building the Smart Grid. It is our duty and privilege to serve every one of our nearly four million customers in a vast, diverse service area. - 9. ComEd IS ALEADER IN DIVERSITY & INCLUSION ComEd has been recognized as a model and a champion for diversity and inclusion in the utility industry and beyond. We have built this reputation over the course of several decades by making diversity a key priority and a pillar of our business model. We believe our workforce should reflect the diverse communities we serve, from our front line employees working out in the field and neighborhoods to the staff and management in our service centers and offices. DIVERSITY IN LEADERSHIP DIVERSITY AWARDS AND RECOGNITION In 2013, ComEd received the following honors and supported the following events: • ComEd received the Diversity Trailblazer Award at Barnes Thornburg’s Fourth Annual Celebration of Diversity. • President and CEO Anne Pramaggiore and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Administration Kevin Brookins were featured in a Crain’s Chicago Business article on diverse executives. • Two ComEd employees received the BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year Award). • Human Rights Commission Award PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: MULTICULTURAL MEDIA ROUNDTABLE The Multicultural Media Roundtable Luncheon proactively engages multicultural/community media outlets to share information that can lead to more balanced, better-informed coverage of key ComEd matters, and a higher level of credibility with media and other external stakeholders. ComEd executives presented highlights and plans about a range of topics, including grid modernization, storm restoration, enhanced customer service and customer support. - 10. HELEN NESTER Interest:Road racing When you’re doing 125 — 90 miles per hour in a turn — you don’t have time to wonder if it’s a man or woman in the car next to you, or what color they are. You just think about what you have to do to win. 7 PLAY VIDEO
- 11. Dan Gabel, ComEd’smanager of Smart Grid and Technology and mentor for the Icebox Derby program, helps a team of participants assemble the steering mechanism for their vehicle. INGENUITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY The Icebox Derby initiative, launched by ComEd this summer and co-sponsored by Girls4Science, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana and the Chicago Urban League, is designed to educate and empower young women to explore opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). The six-week-long Icebox Derby project challenged six teams of girls, aged 13–18, to build electric race cars out of recycled refrigerators. The girls relied on teamwork and ingenuity to complete the assignment, and had the support of mentors from ComEd and its community partners and STEM experts on hand to guide them. This exciting educational competition provided a platform from which the girls gained real-world experience and an understanding of the practical applications of the STEM subjects they learn in school. WOMEN IN INNOVATION As an advocate for women in innovation, ComEd is launching a new initiative offering young women critical experience in STEM-related fields. Empowering the next generation of trailblazers and innovators, including women and girls, is just one of the ways that we are advocating for diversity. - 13. KAMIL BOWIE Interest:Photography In my role, I get to see different places, meet different people. I get to view the city from very interesting perspectives. ComEd IS EMPOWERING AND SUPPORTING OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITIES Service drives us, and ComEd gives back to the communities we serve — from rural towns to the nation’s 3rd largest city, an area spanning more than 11,000 square miles from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River. We’re proud of our diverse community partnerships. Our charitable contributions support organizations specializing in education, the environment, arts and culture, and neighborhood development and empowerment. CHATHAM HOPE HEALING U.S. Congressman Bobby Rush is imploring business, government, social agencies and nonprofit organizations to play a part in bringing hope and healing to the Chatham neighborhood — a once-thriving community that has been devastated by the crime and violence that have plagued parts of Chicago’s South Side. Answering the call, ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore quickly pledged — and the company will deliver — a range of job training, education and other resources to help drive economic opportunity and hope to empower the Chatham community. - 14. FIDEL MARQUEZ Interest:Motorcycling Just looking on the surface, I don’t think people would associate me with a love for motorcycles but remember, when you see an iceberg, you’re only seeing about 10 percent of it. The same is true of people. 11

ENERGY FORCE Launched in2012, ComEd’s Energy Force initiative is the first and only program organized by a U.S. utility company designed specifically to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to reduce their electricity use and save money — and educate others to do the same. ComEd Energy Force is the country’s only energy-efficiency program taught by people with disabilities. Sixteen disability nonprofits are partners this year, an increase from 10 partners last year. Diversity Inclusion Report12 ComEd partners with 16 northern Illinois nonprofits to train and provide ambassadors with tools and resources to demonstrate and share their knowledge through presentations and public events. - 16. YOUTH AMBASSADORS ComEd’s YouthAmbassador Program is developing the next generation of smart energy experts, while providing high school and college students with valuable work experience. In partnership with After School Matters, ComEd recruits approximately 100 students each summer to educate local residents about energy efficiency and energy conservation at community events throughout our service area. BY THE NUMBERS: COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS ComEd is active in our communities year-round, giving both time and financial support. • ComEd employees volunteered more than 10,000 hours of time in 2013 to nonprofit organizations throughout Illinois. • ComEd contributed $4 million in grants and contributions to more than 300 nonprofit organizations last year. • ComEd executives serve on 90 nonprofit boards. • Employees donated more than $1 million to United Way, Chicago’s seventh-highest donor. 10,000VOLUNTEER HOURS ComEd employees assembled for a community clean-up day in Chicago’s 16th Ward. 13 TABLEOFCONTENTS
- 17. MARIA SANCHEZ Interest:Learning I’m energized by learning, learning more about people and how ideas can be leveraged as a way to build relationship bridges. That’s what Diversity Inclusion is about: difference as a positive thing. If we’re still just having conversations only about race, we’ve learned nothing. ComEd INVESTS IN AND PARTNERS WITH DIVERSE BUSINESSES ComEd’s suppliers and vendors are a reflection of the communities we serve, and diversity is a critical part of our supply chain strategy. Our commitment extends from growing our diverse partnerships to mentoring and building long-term relationships with an array of women- and minority-owned businesses. BY THE NUMBERS: 2013 SUPPLIER VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS • Annual spending with diverse businesses has grown by 92 percent over the last four years. • Investment in diverse and women-owned business enterprises reached an all-time high of $315 million in 2013, a nearly 23 percent increase over 2012. • Approximately 24 percent of ComEd’s supply needs are procured from diverse enterprises and small businesses. BANKING ON DIVERSITY Exelon and ComEd participate in a unique collaboration with 21 minority and community banks. New credit agreements totaling $34 million help small businesses grow and keep valuable dollars in the local economy. ComEd also supports Chicago Anchors for a Strong Economy (CASE), a World Business Chicago program. - 18. ALVA GREEN Interest:Singing I can make a song out of anything. Singing gives me peace, and when I sing for others, I try to be attuned to the spiritual place they may be in so that my singing can meet their needs. 15 PLAY VIDEO

Sports helps me teach them grace and humility in winning and in defeat — because they will experience both in life. FIVE FORWARD Across our service area, we partner with entrepreneurial and minority- and women-owned businesses, allowing us to break down barriers to opportunity and help contribute to their continued growth and success. For us, it’s not just about awarding contracts. Our successful efforts to generate business opportunities earned us special recognition from the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council when we were awarded the Transformational Leadership Award. ComEd is a founding member of Chicago United and one of more than 28 corporations participating in its Five Forward program. This initiative enlists Chicago-area CEOs of mid- to large-sized corporations to commit to establishing or expanding business relationships with five local minority firms. Five Forward is designed to build a stronger regional economy and increase the number of women and minority businesses. - 20. TUN CHOW Interest:Fishing I’ve grown to understand how relaxing fishing can be. There’s a spot I visit that is pretty secluded. I stay on the water four to six hours. It doesn’t matter whether I catch anything or not. That time is for me. 17

ComEd EMBRACES ANDFOSTERS A DIVERSE WORKFORCE INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE DEVELOPING A DIVERSE WORKFORCE Our diverse recruitment and training strategies focus on attracting, developing and retaining talented individuals who represent a range of backgrounds and areas of expertise. One of the ways we are building a diverse workforce is through our partnerships with a number of national organizations that serve the interests of minorities in energy-related fields, including: • Society of Women Engineers (SWE) • Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) • Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) • American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) • National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) • National Latino Education Institute ComEd also works in partnership with the Wounded Warriors Project and the PaYS Program to connect with soldiers and veterans looking for employment. At ComEd, we are building a diverse workforce and an organizational culture that embraces our differences and encourages us to contribute and leverage our unique experience and perspectives. By creating and maintaining diversity within our company, we can achieve greater innovation, increased employee engagement and better solutions to the challenges facing our organization. - 22. ADELA VARGAS Interest:Stage musicals I love the storytelling in musicals, and I’m open to all different types. Diversity Inclusion, to me, is about the opportunity to listen to and share ideas, and to have those ideas respected. 19

INVESTING IN OURFUTURE Initiatives such as ComEd’s CONSTRUCT program aim to increase the pool of qualified minority candidates for construction jobs in Illinois by strengthening students’ job readiness and life skills, as well as giving them an up-close look at the various career paths available. Powered by an alliance of companies, social service agencies and labor unions, CONSTRUCT offers up to 60 students each year the training, information and guidance needed to compete for good-paying entry-level jobs in construction-related fields. Once graduates are hired by ComEd, initiatives like the GrADS Coaching Program focus on developing and retaining new talent. Our coaching program connects new rotational engineers with fellow-employee coaches to help them through their transitions. BY THE NUMBERS: 2013 HIRING STATISTICS • Women and minorities made up 47 percent of the 540 people hired in 2013. • Minorities made up 49 percent of the employees enrolled in 2013 craft schools. • Of the 103 college interns participating in the 2013 Management Pipeline Programs, 69 percent were minorities or women. ComEd continues to build and strengthen our commitment to improving our employee diversity by: • Tapping into a wider pool of candidates • Identifying leadership potential within our employee base • Establishing employee networks and resource groups to ensure that all issues are expressed and addressed BYNC 75TH ANNIVERSARY In August 2013, ComEd President and CEO Anne Pramaggiore served as Chairperson for the 75th anniversary of the BYNC (Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council), located on Chicago’s southwest side. Founded in 1939, the BYNC continues to serve thousands of families, and now includes a focus on economic development to help ensure that the neighborhood’s retail corridor stays strong.
