This document provides a tutorial on complex and compound-complex sentences. It defines complex sentences as having an independent clause and at least one dependent clause introduced by a subordinate conjunction or relative pronoun. Compound-complex sentences are defined as having at least two independent clauses joined by a conjunction, as well as a dependent clause introduced by a transitional word or phrase.
