This document introduces several philosophical perspectives on the nature of reality and consciousness:
1. Materialism and classical physics view reality as purely objective and existing independently of observation. Consciousness is seen as an epiphenomenon of matter.
2. Cartesian dualism proposes mind and matter as two independent substances that can interact. However, it maintains a subject-object split.
3. Idealism asserts that objects only exist as perceptions in consciousness and do not have an independent existence.
4. Nonduality teaches that awareness or consciousness is fundamental and all that exists, including the sense of separation between objects, minds, and observers. Space and time are thought to simply be concepts within awareness.
