Masthead- the title of the page
“contents” is the largest writing on the
page, which means it stands out, it is in a
bold font and is black which means it
stands out against the white background.
Text- this bit of text says the issue
number and date of release. This
allows regular buyers to keep up
to date on issues.
Quote- this is a quote from Ice
Cube, which may interest the
reader or customer even more
because it will make the reader
want to know more and
therefore buy the magazine.
Image- the photo is of N.W.A
group, the image on the contents
usually relates to the front cover,
them being the only image shows
the importance of them in this
issue . The image takes up to
majority of the page as they are
recognisable and popular.
Colour Scheme- the colour scheme
is very basic and simple using only
white and black as their colours,
however this does make it simple
and easy for the reader to navigate
and read the writing.
Text-using numbers means that it is
easier for the reader to navigate and
making it in a list form also makes it
easier and more organised. This will
give an insight in to what is in the
article.
Image- it’s a picture of Eddie Van Halen, a
famous Rock Band member. This image takes up
the whole page which shows his importance,
however you can only see a tiny part of his face
(his eye) which is unusual for an image, although
you can only see a little of him he is still making
eye contact with the reader.

is a common convention to use on

also makes the magazine seem more
professional and aesthetically
pleasing.
Mise-en-scene- The guitar relates to him
because he plays and therefore is any easy
way to recognise him. The colours come
across slightly gloomy which may be related
to the article about him.
