  ContentsIn thetop right hand corner is the word “contents” this is made to look very clean bold down to the use of contrasting colours, with a yellowish colour for the text and then a black back ground. This is done because it then makes it clear to the reader what this page is.Underneath the heading, is the dateline and also an issue number this isn’t always promoted in every magazine. However they are usually on the front cover. On this contents page there is a message from the editor, it works well and also gives a very personal note to it, along side it is an image of the front cover. The language that the editor has used within this message is very informal which emphasises the personal note. This could have been added as to appeal to the target audience.This piece also uses a lot of images as to promote what is inside the magazine, the main image itself though is a mid shot of a singer, this image is not a studio piece, which demonstrates what sort of genre this magazine is because the way that he is posed and also what he is wearing. Looks rock/indie style, instead of very cheesy pretty boy styled people on it.All information is set to the right hand side of this page, this makes it look cleaner and also more professional, however due to the amount of images it looks squashed.

  ContentsThere was nocontents page in the pop magazines that I could find in the United Kingdom so I have used a girl magazine’s contents page.It contains mainly three parts. (The top left), it starts of with an introduction of the magazine and gives you some simple yet informative points about the main story and what the magazine contains however where as some magazines use more detail next to each point this means that it is then pushed. then have a tiny bit of detail about each piece this doesn’t not, and also telling you the page number if you are really into a particular story. On the left hand side under the introduction, they have put some pictures about the main stories with a big number of the page to attract the audience. And on the right hand side, they have given some information about themselves, the main information is about the editors, website, their number and address.All the images used on this piece are a similar size however the image at the bottom to the left hand side is the one that catches the viewers eye, it is a mid shot set up in a studio this is obvious because of the plain back ground.

  Contents This contentspage alone is very continuous it uses the same things in every copy and this is what gives it its own personal character, as it has the text the same through out: very bold black font, having the one exception of the name of the magazine. It also has all the little headings on a black strip with white writing, this makes the text stand out bold because of the contrast in colours I don’t think it would have looked as good if it had used black text on a white strip as it may look plain and also make reading it harder.This page doesn't have much colour however similar to what the front cover is it makes a bold statement through out the whole piece as it all links together, using mainly white, black and red, This helps create the house style and cohesion of the mag.It is divided into six parts News, Radar, Reviews, Live, Features and Plus. Cover lines that are shown on the front cover and what they want you to focus on have an arrow pointing towards them. the use of images on the contents page links to the bold cover line below which gives away the main article yet again, by pushing this means that people will be more willing to read what all the fuss is about.
