COVID-19 is a large family of viruses that can cause illness from the common cold to more serious diseases. It was first identified in 2019 and spread worldwide, including in India starting in 2020 where it is now decreasing but still causing deaths. To stay safe from COVID-19, people should wash their hands, avoid unnecessary trips outside the home, always wear a mask, maintain social distancing of 2 meters or 6 feet, eat healthy food to boost the immune system, and stay home when sick. Stopping the spread of COVID-19 can be done by getting vaccinated, following social distancing and mask guidelines, limiting use of public transport, and staying at home.
