What is texture?

sense through touch; 
HARD, SOFT, ROUGH, 
SMOOTH, HAIRY, 
LEATHERY, SHARP, 
etc.
What are two types of texture? 
Physical TEXTURE – 
Actual or tactile 
texture. This include 
but not limited to 
FUR, WOOD GRAIN, 
SAND, CANVAS, 
METAL, GLASS and 
LEATHER. 
Visual TEXTURE - is 
the illusion of having 
physical texture. 
Every material and 
very support surface 
has its own visual 
texture and needs to 
be taken into a 
composition.
