Lohri
Lohri marks the end of a bitterly cold winter and its celebration is a way of welcoming longer and
warmer days in Punjab. Households across the state light bonfires and families dance and sing
around them. Traditional foods and local delicacies are prepared and served for dinner. It is also a
community festival with many families collecting around a single bonfire. Lohri is celebrated at
January 13 every year
Baisakhi
Baisakhi holds a lot of significance for Punjabis. It not only marks the spring harvest and
the solar new year in the state, but is also celebrated to mark the birth of the Khalsa in
Sikhism. Baisakhi is celebrated across the state with visits to
gurudwaras, kirtan processions and community fairs.
Baisakhi is celebrated on April 13
Teeyan
Teeyan is also know as teej , To welcome the onset of monsoon season , by dancing , music ,
Songs, traditional outfits , and prayers.
Teeyan is on August 3 .
