Assessments It is an ongoing process which only purpose is to understand how students learn best and how to improve student’s learning They are used to set expectations and measure appropriate criteria at high standards. It helps to determine sufficient opportunities to achieve and match educator’s expectations. It is a systematical method to analyze evidence and interpreted learning quality matching results. (Suskie & Banta 2009)
- 4. What are some different types of assessments? Course level Assessment: It is base most on grades and work reflection It not recommended if there more members teaching multiple sections and the same course using different test, assignments and grading criteria. Academic Program: Embedded Course Assignments Capstone and Field Experiences Portfolios and Published tests General Education: Overarching and integrated goals. Repeatedly in multiple courses than single courses (Suskie & Banta 2009)
- 5. How assessments are used by some organizations or institutions of learning. Examples: Performance Assessments- most organizations use this assessment to value performance or product through observation and judgment, l like playing a musical instrument, working in a scientific experiment, speaking a foreign language and completing a certain task in a timely matter. Written Responses- most learning institutions use this assessment which requires students to write their responses with an specific written length, like working on compositions and topics such as solutions to environmental problems, economic events, analyzing artwork and forms of government, or solutions to social problems.

- #4: Assessment are use to determinate how students learn best, work best integrating a collaborative experiences. It is a form of doing research among student’s capacity of learning. The responses obtained from assessments are valuable information that helps to design appropriate learning measurements and make improvements in the process of the student learning. Also, helps educators to be more oriented and aware toward expected goals.
- #5: According to Suskie & Banta, course level assessments are more complicated because involves more faculty members specially if they all teaching same course content but using different test and assignments. Requires more time counting how good was each student’s performance and recording grades as a whole course achievement which is one of the key learning goals. Second, assessment at the academic program level are those who are require to completed at the end of a program. This includes several appropriate approaches like written assessment that it is use to determinate what the students has learned and show improvements in their written skills. As well requires participation on holistic activities, internship and completing portfolios to draw a full picture of what they have learned. Third, assessment in General Education, this is base on the curriculum focusing on specific academic goals. For example, it give the faculty opportunities to identify their own embedded assessments given them a great sense of ownership generating the most appropriate results (Suskie L. & Banta W., 2009).
