HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE By J.K. Rowling Report by Derek Ahn
THIS IS A BOOK ABOUT A WIZARD WHO THOUGHT HE WASN’T.
SETTING This story takes place in Hogwarts, Dursleys’ house, and in London. The time of this story is in the present days. This is where and when my story takes place. Hogwarts Dursleys’ House Location of London
CHARACTERS THESE ARE THE CHARACTERS OF THE STORY. Harry Potter: kind, eager, unpredictable. He is the main character of the story. He never had a birthday party in 11 years. Hermione Granger: [really] smart , complete know-it-all. She is the main female character in the story . She spends most of her time reading books. Ron Weasley : good friend, kind. He is known as a friend of the main characters. He collects Chocolate Frogs trading cards.
PROBLEM Gryffindor[Harry Potter’s class] has less points than Slytherin [Draco Malfoy’s class]. They want more points than Slytherin because at the end of the year, the one class who has more points will be Celebrated by Albus Dumbledore.
SOLUTION Dumbledore gave 170 points to Gryffindor. Harry, Hermione, and Ron[ald] tried to do good things but instead lost points. Hermione and Ron both did a good thing so they each got 50 points for Gryffindor.[50x2=100] Then Harry got 60 points for Gryffindor because he did a very good thing. [100+60=160] Last he gave 10 points to Gryffindor because of Neville for courage. So Gryffindor won.
OPINION I liked the part when Harry got a Nimbus 2000[a type of broom]. I enjoyed that part because I wish I had one. So I could travel around the world. I would also visit my brother in Korea. I would change the fact that Harry’s parents did die to his parents did not die. Because, I want Harry to know his parents.
CLOSING I am interested in the next book in the series because, the author did a great job making the reader feel like he/she is Harry Potter himself/herself. I wonder why she was so famous when my brother was reading this book. Now I know. I enjoyed this book and I recommend should read it too. Book report: Derek Ahn
