Front Cover
We took one of the images from the digipak shoot at the car park location. In photoshop we
then changed the brightness and contrast to create an almost silhouette of Patryk, which we
used as the image for the front cover. We chose this image as Patryk is looking over the
edge and is in deep thought, which goes with the digipak flat plan. We also reshot the
digipak to get this lighter image as feedback from our rough cuts told us it was too dark and
hard to see.
We decided to change the font on the digipak to make it simpler, therefore easier to read.
We made the colour slightly darker to fit in with the tone of the song.
We then added the name of the artist ā€œPatryk Baranā€. We did change his artist name from his
initials to his full name, to fill up more space on the digipak and not have it bare and full of
empty space.
I then added the explicit content symbol that appears on other front covers of albums when
there's swearing in the songs, such as Eminem and Nicki Minaj.
Back Cover
For the back cover we used this image which is a slightly darker than the front cover to give
some contrast but still using the same colour scheme. We enhanced an image in photoshop
to make the blacks and the shadows to stand out more.
We then added the album name on the back in white to stand out against the darker
background. Used the same font to create a consistent and cohesive brand.
We kept the same anti theft warning on the digipak but made it black and white to suit the
theme of the digipak.
We then added the track list, which is different to the one used on the flatplan and the rough
cut. We did this because after looking at a variety of digipaks for hip hop/ rap artists. The
tracklist is often has a different colour for the number and the letters, making it easy to read
the different tracks, and it made it look more like a professional product than the rough cut.
CD Panel
Initially we kept the same information on the cd panel and changed the font to match the
other panels. But then we decided to add an image on the actual CD itself, to make it seem
less empty
We added this image. We did this by placing the image on the CD, then using the quick
selection tool we highlighted the CD and then inverting the selection, then pressing delete,
which deleted the image around the CD. The picture didnt quite fit, so we had to use the
brush tool and fill in the bottom area of the cd using the same colours in the image. We then
changed the colour of the album to make it readable.
Inside Panels
For the inside panels we used a variety of image taken at the photoshoot. We went into
photoshop and edited them to make them black and white, to fit in with the rest of the
digipak. I decided not to have text on all of them, as in the rough cut there was too much text
and it was unreadable, which was taken focus away from the images themselves.
Each image used has a different expression and a different angles which all matches with
the tone of the song.
We added text to this panel as the image was quite empty. At first we put the definition of
fear, to make to digipak correlate to the song. However there wasnt enough words in the
definition to fill up the space.
Therefore we used the same thank you message we used in the rough cut and made the
text wrap around Patryk, to make it appeal more professional. We used black instead of the
red as it was hard to read the text in that colour.
