DIGIPAK DECONSTRUCTIONS
KATY PERRY – TEENAGE DREAM
The artists name looks
fairly childish while also
looking like candy. The
writing is in an informal
font creating a chilled
feeling as well as
showing the artist to be
young and youthful.
This links to the pop
genre as it has a
younger audience.
The background which
the artist is laying on is
candy floss. This is
shown to look like the
artist is laying on clouds
which is not very realistic
however it could be what
a younger audience is
interested in seeing.
Candy floss is usually
associated with childlike
things such as fairs etc.
Having this portrays the
artist as being childlike
and relating to her
audience.
The position in which Katy
Perry is laying as well as her
not wearing anything
suggests it is also targeting a
male audience. This also
portrays the artist as not
caring about what people
think and doing what she
wants to do. This also
attracts the audience to her
as she is the main focus.
The name of the album is also in a childish
font while also having red and white swirls
as the fill for the name, this also gives off a
childish impression through looking again,
like candy. This links to the name ‘Teenage
Dream’ as most younger people like candy.
JUSTIN BIEBER – BELIEVE –
FRONT
The background is
fairly plain which puts
the main focus on the
artist. Towards the left
of the front cover it is
lighter suggesting that a
light is facing the artist
from diagonally behind
which is also shown on
the artists back of
head.
The artists name is across the
top which states whose album it
is however it does not stand out
as much as anything else.
The front cover features a
medium close up of the
artists face which also
shows whose album it is.
There is a side light
shining on his face from
the right which causes
part of the shadow on the
left side of his face. He
has a blank kind of
expression on his face
giving off a serous kind
of impression while he is
looking over his shoulder.
However it is unclear as
to what he is looking at
behind him.
The album title ‘Believe’ is one of the largest parts of the front cover which
makes it stand out more to attract audiences. ‘Believe’ has connotations like
confidence and trust which reflect onto the audience while also being a possible
reflection on the artists past life experiences. Believe suggests Justin had a time
where he changed his life around for the better therefore forgetting bad
decisions of the past. This could also be the reason for him looking over his
shoulder.

small booklet
which gave details
about each song in
the album such as

and simple. The songs are
listed from 1-13 with
‘Believe’ being 13 as it is
the name of the album.
The song which matches
the title of the album
always tends to be the last
song on the list. The font is
normal whilst all the letters
are in capital letters.
This quote said by Justin Bieber is highlighted in a yellow box to make it
stand out. The quote says ‘Where would I be if YOU didn’t believe…’

with the support of his fans, it led him to get better.

attention from a male
audience. All artists are looking
directly forwards while Perrie

her face giving off a seductive
facial expression.
The background is split into 4 individual boxes which the
images of the members of Little mix are in. This separates
them all while each section is separated unequally portraying
the group as being unconventional.

FRONT
The background of the
front cover is dark
which makes the artist
stand out more. The

and white minus the title
‘Yours Truly’ which
gives a kind of
mysterious feeling.
The position of Ariana
gives off the impression
that she is careless
towards anything. It also
gives the impression that
she is confidence with
herself.
Towards the bottom of the front cover the background blends
in with Ariana. Ariana’s face at the top is the brightest part of
