- 3. Why Web 2.0 Tools? According to the P21 framework, today’s students need a learning environment that promotes the 4 C’s: - Communication - Collaboration - Critical thinking and problem solving - Creativity (Tucker, 2014)

Why Web 2.0 Tools? • According to the National Education Technology Standards for Students (NETS.S), all teachers should meet the following indicators: – Teachers are facilitators of student learning and creativity – Students should use digital tools to explore real- world issues and solve problems – Collaborative tools should be used to promote student reflection – Teachers should actively engage students in face to face and virtual environments. – Digital age learning and assessments should be developed. (Tucker, 2014)

Benefits of Using Web 2.0 Tools in your classroom • Allows learning to occur anywhere and at any time • Enhances interaction with other learners • Allows for access to a wide range of learning resources • Allows for various learning styles to individualize learning (Juskeviciene & Kurilovas, 2013)
