The District Health Information System (DHIS) is a data collection and management mechanism designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health services at the district level. It provides baseline data for planning and monitoring health indicators, supporting evidence-based decision-making for improved healthcare provision. Fully implemented in Punjab since 2009, DHIS enables continuous assessment of health system performance and informs necessary reforms and resource allocation.

(DHIS)
District Health Information System (DHIS) is a mechanism of data collection,
transmission, processing, analysis and information feedback to the first level care
facilities & secondary level health care facilities.
DHIS provides a baseline data for district planning implementation and monitoring
on major indicators of disease pattern, preventive services and physical resources.
IMPORTANT FEATURES
