Web 2.0 refers to internet services that emphasize online collaboration and sharing among users. Health 2.0 applies these principles to healthcare by enabling patients to be more informed and involved in their own care through tools that foster interaction and knowledge sharing between patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. However, evidence is still needed on whether and how much these technologies are actually used in healthcare settings. As Health 2.0 continues to evolve over the next 5-10 years, it is expected to make healthcare more personalized and patient-centered by putting patients at the center and connecting all aspects of the healthcare system through technologies like mobile health apps. This will require human-to-human, participatory approaches to healthcare delivery.
