Double Page Spread Article: QUESTIONS

Q: You’ve had a crazy year, how has it been for you?

Yes, it’s been absolutely crazy but I’ve enjoyed every second. This is the life I’ve been working for
ever since I can remember!

Q: You’re an inspiration to many young girls, who was your inspiration as a teenager?

That’s very nice to hear! Only a few years ago my inspirations were Britney, Madonna etc… all the
massive diva’s that everyone wants to be, but I have a very varied taste in music so I have always
been inspired by many different artists.

Q: Where were you when you found out you’d got your first number 1?

I was actually backstage at a gig and I’d just come off stage, I was absolutely buzzing from the crowd
and then to find out I’d made it to number 1 was just incredible! It took days for it to sink in, it was
literally a dream come true.

Q: You’ve been nominated for a BRIT Award, how do you feel?

It’s mental! I’m overwhelmed to be competing with the likes of Jessie J and Adele for this award, but
even to just have been nominated is crazy. I’m very grateful.

Q: When did you realise you wanted to be in the music industry?

Ever since I can remember I dreamed of it, but I never thought of it as a reality until I started getting
such great feedback from my YouTube videos.

Q: There have been many rumours about you and Justin is there anything you wish to reveal?

I’m not saying anything except that Justin is a great friend of mine, and we’re just enjoying our time
in the spotlight.

Q: How important is your image to you as modern pop star?

It’s massively important to me as I see it as a way of expression but I don’t think it’s the be all and
end of all, society is very image based and I don’t agree with that but I do think everyone’s style
should be important to them and accepted by others.

Q: Has your life changed for the better now you’ve made it?

Definitely, adapting to the fame side of my career has been difficult for not just me but those around
me, but I absolutely love making music.

Q: Any plans to go on tour over 2013? Your fans would love to know!

I can’t say a word!!! I will let my fans know as soon as I can.
Q: You’ve said in previous interviews that you like to work on your new songs whilst on tour, why is
this?

Yeah, my fans are who I write for, they’re my inspiration so whilst I’m in my tour bubble I can write
more freely and they inspire me so much more!

Q: How have your family and friends reacted to you suddenly bursting into the industry?

They’re so happy for me and proud but it’s been hard for the adapting to the fame side as well.

Q: Are there any possible collaborations on the horizon?

I’d love to collaborate with Rihanna as I just adore her, but that’s not on the cards at the moment.

Q: Thank you for talking to ACAPELLA, we’ll all be watching and wishing you the best for the BRIT
Awards next week!

Thanks for having me! And thank you, fingers crossed!
