The Don't Stop Believin' Asylum Challenge Week 2

Welcome back to the cleanest Asylum in Veronaville. Last time on Don’t Stop Believin’ Asylum Challenge John, the controllable, managed to get to level 2 in his chosen profession of Intelligence. Several of the Inmates fell in love with each other and Andy tried desperately to.

Oh and Carl burnt the Chilli, which was the nearest we’ve come so far to a fire. As you can also see I’ve remembered to put the ceilings in this time round as well.

ACR (version 2) is still up and running in my game. Lee & Nims and Carl & Aveta are making full use of it.

And no one ever seems to get jealous.

Jonty provides some background music for all these ACR moments and everyone takes a moment to appreciate that. Everyone except his boyfriend Billy who decides this is a great moment to remind us all that Lee is hot.

But being in an Asylum is starting to take its toll on the boys. Carl and Billy both have taken to crying. Or maybe it has something to do with what is going on behind them?

Outside Andy has been making full use of the Dance Sphere and, after falling off four times, he has managed to gain a body skill point as well as becoming fit.

Back inside Billy and Carl have stopped crying long enough to become Best Friends.

Near simultaneous flirting in the main room!

Then Lee decides to congratulate Carl on becoming Best Friends with Billy. Which results in them becoming Best Friends.

Lee then heads off to the TV room to read the paper.

But it all seems to be a façade as, once he’s finished the paper, Lee begins crying over his aspiration level.

Billy and Andy are staving away the worry hands and the crying with a quick game of Red Hands. Outside. In their sleeping things.

Nims finds Jonty hot. Especially when he’s using the toilet.

John comes home with a promotion. Hooray! To celebrate he earns some extra points by learning how to make a chef salad.

Nims is hot when she’s asking for soda

Outside Andy and Aveta have become Best Friends.

But it only lasts long enough for Andy to attempt a dirty joke.

Andy goes inside to console himself with a bit of cleaning but Jonty obviously wanted to do it.

Billy and Lee have joined Aveta (and Nims) outside and are engaging in a quick game of Red Hands. Though why they couldn’t do it inside or change before coming outside is something only they can answer.

Inside Jonty has found something else to clean and Carl is lounging on the sofa, imagining himself somewhere else.

Back outside Lee is upset that Aveta and Billy aren’t helping him gain aspiration points… or something.

Jonty takes out the rubbish and has a sixth sense though about Billy. Who is upset that Aveta and Lee are now ignoring him

Jonty to the rescue! Aveta however seems to have turned into a vampire and Lee is on the menu.

After a week of being trapped in the Asylum Andy decides it’s about time he practised the piano. That is what he’s paid for after all. (If you remember Andy was the MD and keyboard player for the show)

Despite all being hungry, these four are still hanging about outside succumbing to ACR and the Dance Sphere.

John was interrupted from his stargazing by the phone so I directed him to make spaghetti and soon the outside group troop in to enjoy the food. Aveta lets us know that she finds Billy hot.

Aveta is in need of a shower but instead she stalks Lee as he snags one of the free beds.

Meanwhile back in the kitchen Billy would like us all to know that he finds John hot.

John takes a shower and, realising that all the beds are taken, snags the sofa.

The last two up are Andy, who is up to creativity 3 (I think) and Billy who seems very cranky about the piano playing.

The reason for the crankiness is explained as Billy passes out on the floor. Andy decides that 3 (?) points and 8 hours of continuous playing is enough. Moments later Carl and Nims wake up and Andy quickly takes advantage.

Carl takes over where Andy left off and he awakens Billy. Billy chooses to go sleep in the bed that Lee has just vacated.

Jonty is also now up and he starts the day his favourite way. Cleaning.

John has also awoken and made a start on breakfast, which he promptly burns. He’s still lacking in cooking skill points.

Jonty seems to be asking me if they could please have a double bed. Don’t worry Jonty something’s coming. Something good. At least for you.

Lee has finished cleaning the bath and now glitch cries his way through the bathroom door.

Before trying to cheer himself up by swooning over Aveta in the bath.

Lee, having left the bathroom finally, is now trapped in the loo room by both Nims and Aveta. Both girls have ACR on their mind.

Lee finally escapes the girls and settles down to eat burnt pancakes with his Best Friend Billy and his New Best Friend Andy.

Jonty, after falling off the Dance Sphere a couple of times, decides it’s about time he did a little bit of gardening again.

Carl heads off for a shower and Nims snags the piano much to Aveta’s delight.

Billy has finished his pancakes and come outside to find Jonty. Who is still gardening.

Andy scrubs his way to a cleaning skill point.

Billy is still waiting for Jonty to stop gardening so he can use ACR

Andy decides to christen his clean counter by making everyone a nice chef salad.

So what do we have here? This is what happens when you’re wondering what would happen if you click something on the ACR controller. Just to set the record straight I clicked on Global Overrides (I think) and Sofa test. I changed the settings and suddenly Lee and Aveta made a bee line for the sofa. DISCLAIMER: At no time was I clicking on the ACR controller as Lee or Aveta (or anyone other than John) and at no time did I direct any ACR interaction.

First purple hearts of the challenge. Definitely not the last.

So the Woohoo finished, they stand. Carl comes over and, as he has on numerous occasions, flirts with Aveta. However the Woohoo has changed everything. Lee is outraged and hurt. So ends the relationship which hit all the other firsts.

John arrives home with another promotion. Level 4 attained.

I immediately set him to work on keeping up the Family Friendship count.

Billy gives up on Jonty and comes back inside as it begins to snow and steam is coming off him!

Jonty finally gives up on the gardening shortly afterwards as he turns grey with cold

Carl decides that now Lee is out of the way he’ll get Aveta to join him on the sofa. Aveta, the Romance sim is more that happy to oblige.

Afterwards Carl decides he’s tired and sleeps on the sofa. Ewwww.

Aveta would like you to know that she hates Lee.

Aveta then starts to make a Chef Salad as a midnight snack but pauses to let me know she’s tired, but all the beds and the sofa are taken.

John is also awake and working on his logic points

Aveta finally finishes the chef salad but then falls asleep in it. Jonty wakes up at 3:30am and joins her but doesn’t seem to have noticed that she’s asleep.

He soon wakes her up with the dishwasher though once he’s finished his breakfast

Carl wakes up and immediately breaks the toilet.

Lee and Billy are also up and playing a quick game of punch-you watched by Andy in stalking mode.

Carl attempts to make up for breaking the toilet by cleaning the bath.

John has moved on to Cleaning skill study to keep ahead of the curve

Jonty is waiting for the bath and so gets a bit of cleaning in while he waits.

Crowded bedroom is crowded. Billy is shocked but is it because Lee and Nims are involved in a bit of PDA or is it because of the big red X through Jonty’s face?

John deserves a reward for all his hard skilling and so I get him to invite over my Simself.

Is he happy about the heart fart or is it because my Simself is heading towards to sofa?

Outside in the snow Andy and Billy become Best Friends.

Well I think that answers the early question. Billy takes a short cut on his way to the kitchen and is shocked at the nakedness of my Simself

A bit later on in the kitchen and Billy still hasn’t had a bath and is instead cooking. My Simself has got dressed and is enjoying some food. Lee is stalking Nims

Over the delicious Mac & cheese my Simself becomes Best Friends with Andy. Note the fact that my Simself is now pregnant. After making John & her in CAS I moved them into a flat. My Knowledge Simself had a big fat want for a baby so one quick click later and she was pregnant. Between week 1 and 2 I played her house to get the bump to appear. During this there was no contact with anyone from the asylum.

In the TV room Nims and Lee take advantage of the empty sofa to gain their own purple hearts (second lot for Lee of course)

Makoto St Julien was a walk by that John greeted and who then immediately bogarted the piano. Aveta doesn’t think much of his playing.

Jonty gets thrown from the Dance Sphere losing himself some asp points and reducing him to tears.

Lee has broken the bath. Nims has broken Aveta

After extracting herself from the door Aveta tries telling Lee a dirty joke. He doesn’t appreciate it and Aveta finally falls out of love with him

Lee decides to cheer himself up by collecting the bills.

Thanks to a Chance Card John is promoted to Level 5 and has made 5, 000 simoleons!

Malcolm Landgraab IV was walking by and John greeted him before heading indoors to catch up on the sleep he missed whilst Stargazing last night. Malcolm headed straight for the Dance Sphere

Billy has finally taken a bath and then celebrates his new clean state by mopping up the water from the broken bath.

In the kitchen there are dirty plates, Grilled cheese and Malcolm looking scornful at a weeping Jonty.

Malcolm then finds something more to his liking.

Later that night Aveta finds the overturned bin that I hadn’t spotted and the roaches that have spawned. So begins the long night of roach stomping.

“ Waaa! I came outside and stomped on roaches and now my stompy boots have dead insect muck on them! Waaa and now I have flu too!”

“ Aveta is hot when she’s using her stompy boots on roaches.”

Inside Jonty has just woken up and so immediately mops the toilet floor.

Back inside and Jonty has found something to do that is even better than cleaning

John needs Mechanical points and the bath is broken….

Billy caresses Jonty but it doesn’t help cheer him up

Carl and a stinky Aveta are now really beginning to suffer from their roach stomping evening. They alternate between crying about seeing roaches and hacking up their lungs.

John has finished fixing the bath and so goes on to burn the breakfast pancakes.

When I told him to make another plate, of hopefully this time non burnt pancakes, the message tells me there is no more food left. So one quick call to the delivery people and the fridge was restocked.

Jonty decides he needs a bath, but Aveta was the last one to use it so guess what….yup he has flu too.

Amongst all the aspirational trouble in the kitchen, Andy tries once again to flirt with Nims and, once again, she turns him down.

Jonty is mad at John. Why? No idea.

Aveta, having spread the flu around a bit, invites Andy out for a spot of roach stomping and flu catching.

Nims is a popularity sim. She’s also joining in with the stomping and the flu catching.

John meanwhile has been making friends on the phone and is now greeting Ethan Barrett. He isn’t spraying the roaches because I stupidly thought that stomping on them killed them (as well as making you sick). Always before I’ve just called an exterminator and cancelled any stomping actions.

After a quick chat with Ethan, John accosts Brittany Wendland and gets a hang out action going until the carpool turns up.

Lee is on the piano desperately trying not to interact with any of the rest of the house as by now everyone else has the flu. Even John.

Jonty wakes up and has a cry, possibly about the roaches this time, and then cheers himself up with a post-shower clean of the bath.

Aveta and Andy wander outside for a game of catch and Aveta scores herself some much needed points.

Afterwards Andy helpful gets the bills. Note the roaches in the bottom left!

Brittany is still about and she joins in the roach stomping party.

Roach stomping is hungry work but there is no way Carl is stopping to actually prepare any food

Lucky for him John is home from work (without a promotion but with 6,000 now earned and an asp boost). So despite him stinking and almost asleep on his feet, John serves up some Mac & cheese for the ungrateful inmates before snagging a bed.

The roach stompers all come in for the free food and it’s revealed how many of them would have been in their underwear outside if it wasn’t for the fact it’s winter.

Nims thinks Billy is hot but the feeling is not reciprocated.

So she stalks Lee instead, who does return her affection. When he’s not cooking up spaghetti that is.

Jonty and Carl practise for the synchronised mopping Olympic event.

Then Jonty finishes up with cleaning the toilet bowl itself whilst thinking of his other favourite thing

Aveta is back at her favourite sport and Billy has joined her this time.

Lee finally succumbs to the flu (that’s everyone now) but he doesn’t let it get him down. The toilet is staying broken as I noticed how many skill points the inmates were gaining mopping up the constant puddles.

Jonty pushes the boundaries to the limits to stomp roaches at the line he can not cross, at least not until John reaches level 10…5 more promotions to go

Inside Lee still hasn’t forgotten about Aveta and Carl. Billy meanwhile is upset at the roaches.

John is awake and star gazing once again.

Next morning and the roach stompers are out again in force. Andy is stomping to celebrate the fact he is well and immediately gets sick once more. It is at this point I realise that I need to spray the roaches to get rid of them.

John sprays the roaches by the bin much to the disappointment of the others.

Jonty is back on the dance sphere and once again loses his breakfast. Then realises he really should visit the little boy’s room.

Billy becomes Best Friends with John

Jonty, instead of going inside and using the toilet, which is currently free, decides to join Andy, Nims and Lee in stomping the last batch of roaches.

Which he soon regrets. Notice that Andy is so hungry he has phased through the boundary wall.

Unfortunately for Jonty, Aveta is using the shower.

Lee is taking his anger at Carl out on the roaches

John gets +3,000 for spraying roaches….okay so actually it was for becoming Best Friends with Lee. He had to hug him to stop him stomping on the roaches so that he could spray them.

Inside Carl is enjoying the weather channel, Aveta is hungry and a clean Jonty is upset about losing bladder control in front of the others.

Lee helpfully cleans up the roach carcasses outside as the others head in to the kitchen.

John is still sick with the flu, as is the rest of the asylum, but there is no rest for the wicked as the car pool pulls up.

Andy is making burgers, but Lee enters and decides that’s a good idea. Thanks to my stupid kitchen layout, Andy stops making burgers so Lee can get in the fridge.

After a while Lee is too distraught by the roaches and/or low aspiration that he wanders a short distance away to cry. Billy steps in to finish the job. Andy stares forlornly at the fridge.

Aveta is hungry and is unable to comprehend there is a burger on a plate right in front of her. Andy meanwhile is on the phone to me after my simself called up to see how he’s doing.

She decides to ignore the food already cooked and make her own burgers. Maybe she used an ancient Chinese recipe as shortly after she starts eating one a pop up informs me she is now well.

The season has rolled into Spring and both Aveta and Carl appear to have rolled the want for a kiss.

Carl then tries to give Aveta back the flu she gave him in the first place.

Carl then joins Andy on the sofa for a chat as Andy reads the paper.

John returns home and pays the bills that have been mounting up.

Lee decides to make sure Jonty stays sick by coughing all over him as he sleeps.

Nims starts a new trend of playing the piano just long enough to gain points for it.

Nims has a shower then contemplates the fridge but soon plumps for the gelatine that John is serving up

Billy is hot when he’s starving

The Gelatine disappears quickly

Nims is patiently waiting for Lee

However Billy has trapped Lee in the smallest room in the asylum (the sink room)

Billy is in need of some fun. Lee however is not in the mood to help him and finally escapes to join Nims on the sofa.

John gains the logic point needed to get to level 6. He continues stargazing in the hopes to get ahead on the points needed for level 7

Billy has decided to get his fun by jumping rope in front of the oven. Andy is not impressed. How is he supposed to cook the pancakes now?

I get Billy to move by getting John to call him over, but Andy still seems to think there is a problem.

The pancakes finally cooked, Andy puts down his plate to tell me just how hungry he is.

Andy talks to Billy about how great it is to work in theatre as Lee stalks him.

Everyone takes advantage of the lovely spring morning to get in some catch.

Jonty is not invited and so has a little cry by the bins. Or is it relief as he becomes well?

Billy takes him inside to cheer him up with aspiration points and a chance to shock Nims.

Carl breaks the bath. I decide to leave it broken so that all the inmates can gain cleaning skill from mopping up the puddles much like the toilet.

John becomes Best Friends with Armando the postie as he listens patiently to Armando’s world domination plans.

Aveta serves up burnt pancakes which are not only greedily consumed but also seem to cure both Billy and Nims!

Andy missed out and so is resigned to a bag of crisps.

Nims flirts with Lee in the bathroom and Lee enjoys some spring aspiration points.

Jonty discovers he’s missed the pancakes as well so spends his morning getting all the burnt batter off the hob.

Lee gains more, much needed, aspiration points apparently from complaining at me.

Nims and Aveta aren’t happy either. The room is just too messy for them.

Aveta escapes the mess to gain some spring aspiration points with Carl in the piano room.

Well done Billy. Lee is not food. However he has re-infected you with the flu.

More points are a flying and, unlike Billy, Carl has become well

And some points for John as he reaches level 6. YAY!

Food delivery is in order but how many Sims does it take to receive the delivery?

Lee takes this opportunity to gain some more aspiration points. While Billy takes the groceries inside.

John chats to the delivery girl Renee as the friends count is a little low. Aveta takes this opportunity to point out that even if Lee did slap her, he is still hot.

Billy had started to cook inside but Lee isn’t impressed and so pulls his favourite trick to get Billy to move.

It seems that Lee wanted burgers not spaghetti.

Then to add insult to injury, Lee sets the kitchen on fire.

Soon everyone bar John and Jonty (who is on the loo) has mothed to the burning oven.

John called the fire brigade and then I sent him for a shower.

Fireman Connor McClellan soon has the blaze under control with no loss of life or serious property damage. More’s the pity.

Creepy Andy is correct. John is not edible.

Lee immediately starts to serve up the spaghetti but Nims pulls his own trick on him so she can selfishly stuff her face at the fridge. Lee gets his own back by re-infecting her with the flu.

John, fresh from his shower (the stick cloud is from Lee), removes the burnt burgers from the hob and cooks up the spaghetti. Nims can’t wait and eats one of the burnt burgers. She should have waited as the spaghetti cures Lee.

In the confines of the bathroom, Nims re-infects Lee as everyone vies for the bath.

Jonty has missed out on the food so he patiently clears away the dirty plates before helping himself to some crisps.

Lee has had enough of fighting over the bath and goes for a sponge bath.

Andy takes time to clean the bath.

Outside Jonty and Billy remember that it is still spring.

John makes pancakes for breakfast but a night of fire rescue and stargazing causes him to fall asleep in his plate.

Carl and Aveta are also still taking advantage of spring.

Pancakes finished Billy goes to find Jonty. He is hot when he’s gardening.

The third couple of the asylum make use of spring to gain some precious points too.

Aveta is hot when she’s cleaning the kitchen.

Andy really wishes he had Somebody To Love. (Act 1 finale)

He makes his way into the kitchen and makes a good start by congratulating Nims on having Woohoo. Billy is hungry as usual.

Buoyed by his successful compliment Andy goes in for a flirt and finds that spring isn’t so helpful when you’re rejected.

It all becomes too much for poor old Andy

One visit from the therapist and Andy is back to normal….er well at least he has somebody to love now, even if they are made of flour.

Jonty decides he doesn’t want a chef salad and so pulls Lee’s favourite trick. Unfortunately for him the fridge is again bare and so Chef Salad it is.

Renee again shows up with the groceries which gives John another chance to further their friendship.

Inside he chooses to gossip with a now healthy Nims about Billy’s accident back in the first week. Behind them Andy lovingly cuddles his sack baby.

Jonty and Billy spend some time flirting which gains them both spring points and Jonty becomes re-infected with the flu.

“ You are so hot it makes me ANGRY!”

Since Billy has been raging that he needs fun for more than a Sim day by now, I direct John to play red hand with him. It seems to work.

Andy has a bath and it cures his flu. To celebrate he shoves his sack baby through the bathroom door.

And as Carl helps himself to a drink that brings us to Monday morning. So this week has seen John go from a Private Eye (2) to a Rookie Field Agent (6), the discovery of Woohoo, our first jealous cheating moment, roaches, a flu epidemic, our first fire and our first aspirational failure. Also the discovery that falling in love seems to make Sims dumb or at least ignore their needs.
