The Dublin Zoo was undergoing renovations, including building a new African Savannah exhibit, so some animals like elephants and giraffes were not on display. The zoo grounds are located near Phoenix Park in Dublin, which has a monument dedicated to the Duke of Wellington. A variety of animals could be seen at the zoo, such as crested macaques, snow leopards that emerged from their cave as it warmed up, great blue herons, playful river otters, sleeping animals waiting for the day to warm up, a hornbill offering a dead mouse, African wild dogs, a snowy owl, red pandas playing on a jungle gym, a two-toed sloth, and fast-moving
