EDITING YOUR WRITING
Before you print your final essay, read through these
slides and check your essay to be sure you have the
correct structure and mechanics included.
TITLE AND NAME
 Your title should be centered at the top.
 You can enlarge the font and choose a fun lettering.

 Write your name centered under the title- always
  write your FIRST and LAST name.

PARAGRAPH FORMAT
 Your paragraphs should always be indented.
 For a final essay, you need to double space.
       Highlight the whole essay (not title and name)
       Click on the Line Spacing icon




       Choose 2.0
FONT STYLE
   Remember, you may only use the following fonts for
    final essays:
       Arial
       Times New Roman
       Cambria
       Calibri
       Comic Sans

    **** Your font size should be no more than 16 point and no
                         smaller than 12 point.
CAPITAL LETTERS
 Beginning of every sentence.
 All names or people and places. (Proper nouns)

 All months, days of the week.

 Every time you write I

 The first letter of all the words in your title, except
  little words like a, and, the, and of
PUNCTUATION

 Periods at the end of every sentence.
 Capital letters in correct places.

 Question marks for questions.

 “Quotation marks” for dialogue (speaking).
SPELLING

 If you have any red lines underlining words, check
  the spelling.
 If it marks a name as spelled incorrectly, you can
  ignore it.
