This document outlines the infrastructure and server specifications required to run the Imaxel Photo Solution system. It describes the need for internet servers located in a datacenter to provide front-end services to consumers and manage orders, as well as a local workstation in the production center to download orders and send them to print servers. Minimum hardware and software requirements are provided for low and high production volume servers and the local workstation. Required communication ports between the servers and workstation are also listed.

- 3. Server specifications EN3702 Imaxel Lab SL 3 Overview Imaxel Photo Solution (IPS) system relay on an infrastructure which has two main components: 1. Internet server(s) located in a datacenter that provide front-end service to consumers and manage the configuration and ecommerce cycle. 2. Local workstation located in the production center, connected to the internet servers to download orders as well as connected via internal local network to the print servers. Local workstation is always procured and managed by the client. Internet servers are normally procured and managed by Imaxel. In the specific case where this is procured by the client (so not using imaxel servers but others), these need to meet some specifications prior to Imaxel being able to install the system. These specifications are described below. When the client opts to install the solution in their own server also assumes the roles and responsibility of the maintenance of these servers. Tasks such as performance, reliability, backup and recovery, redundancy etc are not handle by imaxel but directly by the client, who has to set up their IT processes according to their business requirements. In order to provide helpdesk support, Imaxel requires that some communications ports are open. These are described below. Internet servers These server will host, among others: iWEB frontend editor Management backoffice: Remote Manager, which is a web application to configure the frontend and the eCommerce developed in ASP.NET that uses a MySQL database in order to store the information about the products, prices and orders details. These service may be provided just by one server or by several depending on the expected volume. Low production (below 100 orders/day requires only one server. High production volumes may require 2 or more servers. The recommended hardware configurations are: Low production volume. This application is a production workflow which among others print production orders (job tickets) converts the orders to PDF files and impose and send them to the Print server. This workstation must be located in the production center (where printers are located) and should comply with these minimum requirements. The connection is handled via some communication ports which must be properly configured by the client in their LAN and WAN configuration. 1.1 Internet servers communication ports Ports 80 HTTP 21 Active port FTP 20 Passive port FTP 3389 Remote Desktop Protocol ( RDP ) for Imaxel helpdesk 1.2 Local workstation communication ports Usually next ports are open for out coming connections but if your network has a firewall, check them, please.
